What is the best way to take it-swallowing or dissolution under tongue?

I would recomend just swallowing it as the taste isnt exactly great...the effects dont take long anyways. I definetly wouldnt snort it becausei someone whos nose gets clogged everytime they do it

Ive heard that zanex is not water soluble and that snorting it is a waste of time, it is just letting it drip down your throat. But i always begged to differ considering it did seem to take effect quicker and stronger threw the nose. I got desperate with .5 and snorted 4 of them and my nose bleed, havent snorted them since.

Sorry, swallowing the pill will have a slightly less effect, but will last longer. Dissolving it under your tongue will effect your more, but have a shorter duration.


But I also noticed back in the day how zanex dissolved so damn easy that im not sure if zanex has a time-coating or whatever its called. I was wondering myself

I imagine both of your suggestions would be about the same. A better
idea is to put the pill under your tongue and hold it there untill it
disolves. This method is called "sublingually" (Latin for under the tongue).
This is the fastest route to the blood stream other than IV or up the nose.
Neither one of which I would recomend. The "Under the tongue" method
is what I do when I need to be in the xanax zone ASAP.

That would be a great way to pass out! Seriously, if you are not used to taking benzos and you take 2mg worth of alprazolam (xanax) with a shot of alcohol, you are going to be pretty "relaxed" Now if you have been up all night and your chopping your breakfast up on a mirror, then I highly recommend your alcohol/xanax cocktail.

Benzodiazepines are not water soluble therefore all snorting is going to achieve is a post nasal drip and congested nasal passages. As others have mentioned: sublingual is the way to go.

IVing is NOT an option (unless SWIY has access to pharmaceutical vials): The binders and other crap will do untold damage to veins, including causing thrombosis/emboli.

Alcohol with Xanax is never a good idea, but that never stopped anyone. Overall, it's a pretty good way for the afformentioned 'knockout', but who knows what'd you do before! (Then again, SWIM is posting, so far legibly, after doing just that. I guess this is a case of "Do what I say, not what I do." And just as an extra disclaimer: This is not a good idea! Even with experience, there are inherent dangers attached.)

Anyway, to the original question at hand- I suppose chewing it up would be faster, since you're breaking it up and you're stomach doesn't have to. I don't think I'd ever be desperate enough to chew one, though. The taste is absolutely dreadful. Unless you're in the middle of a panic attack, (to be blunt), just swallow the darn pill, same effects anyway. Sublingually is known to be fastest in this case, seeing as there are rather large veins under the tongue.
If there isn't any experience involved here, be careful! A bar is a big start for no tolerance. (Boy, do I feel the over-protective mother here!)

My Psychiatrist recommends the "Holding under the tongue" method because it is the fastest and most useful vehicle to get the active drug into yout system to cure the anxiety.

Ill i have to say is xanax is only a temp. fix for anxiety. Dont get me wrong it works better than anythin Ive tried for anxiety but you will need it for the rest of your life if you cant handle the anxiety...and the wilthdraws are as bad as oxys.

No shit man, for about a year I was prescribed 224 5mg Oxycodones, and 120 .5mg xanax per month and when I ran out... oh boy.. it was the most horrible feeling... the ultimate definition of phychic hell. NO withdrawal is in my experience as worse as a dual Xanax/Oxy withdrawal.

Sorry to hear that you have such an anxiety problem Interzone, but those are some good fucking drugs your doctor gave you. I think I read that you have been on xanax for 8 years now which is unheard of to me, best of luck to you when/if you want to get off it permanently. As for snorting or dissolving, I would definitely have to lean towards dissolving besides the horrible taste, but they're pills. You wonthave as much xanax in your systembysnorting it then you would if youdissolved the same amount.

it will work somewhat faster if you chew it up.



benzos don't dissolve in water so i'm pretty sure that won't aid in
absorbtion although i once saw a guy with a high tolerance crush up a
couple bars, put the powder in a shot glass, stir it up and take it
down. he passed out within 10 minutes.



i would say the best way to speed absorbtion/effects of xanax would be
crush it up and swallow with a glass of grapefruit juice since if that
does not aid in absorbtion it will at least potentiate the effects.

i've never heard that before.



i know a lot of people who've done it with no problems.





i can even begin to imagine why seizures would occur. grapefruit juice
simply blocks enzyme sin the liver involved with metabolizing the
drug... i guess it could cause death due to accidental overdose but if
you're being care/know what you're doing it shouldn't be a problem.



however, withdrawl symptoms from all benzodiazepines include seizures and death. maybe you got confused that way.

Grapefruit juice seems to make the xanax and other benzos work a little better.If i had to guess, i would say close to15% greater effects that's about it.

it'll work quicker if you snort it. try that, do not snort too much though.
