Light vs Regular cigs?

SWIM has been a regular smoker since high school, and is a camel light guy to the end but he recently tried camel filters and swim was wondering if regular cigs are that much worse. All the anti-smoking people say lights are just as bad but does it go the other way too? If SWIY is gunna smoke why not regulars? Or is SWIM missing something

Re: Light vs Regular cigs?

the biggest difference between lights and regs are that there are perforations around the filter in lights that let in more air when SWIY takes a drag. im sure that there are slight differences between the tobaccos, but from rolling his own for awhile now, SWIM has found that this is the biggest difference.

Re: Light vs Regular cigs?

I'm sure I read a paper about "Lights" smokers taking longer/harder drags than smokers of regular cigs, and obscuring the holes in the filter (subconsciously), meaning they got more nicotine, tar and smoke

Now I need to find it

Re: Light vs Regular cigs?

yeah, the holes in the filter are placed in about the same place that your fingers go. so more or less they do get covered up by holding the cig.

SWIM is sure that there has to be slight differences between light and regular tobacco, because from rolling SWIM's own for awhile now, they sell light tobacco and regular tobacco. but again, what the difference between them is, SWIM doesnt know. the only thing that SWIM notices, is that light tobacco seems to be less harsh than regular tobacco which would be why light smokers can take longer and harder drags.

Check this out: http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/f...ght-cigarettes

Sounds little biased though.
