Midazolam questions: Expired vials

Swim knows someone who has several 2mg/2ml vials of Midazolam. Does this stuff have any recreational value? How much would need to be consumed?

Its liquid, so can this person drink it or can it be turned into powder somehow?

They are also expired, ranging between 6 months to 1 year old.

Re: Midazolam questions

you are right, I forgot to search. The only thing swim hasn't found an answer for is if the liquid is safe to drink.

Re: Midazolam questions

Something that is within a year or so of expiration-date, regarding pharmaceuticals that don't require refrigeration, should be fine for oral use in an emergency (medical point-of-view). It is unlikely that 2mg of Midazolam has degraded into something with an LD50 of 2mg/70kg.

I've enjoyed taking midazolam in the past. Rather like the valium challenge, everyone can enjoy the dormicum challenge. In addition to being excellent sleep-aids, when taken at a high enough dose, one can enjoy the feeling of being very drunk while being clear-headed. In a manner far quicker than using diazepam, or the majority of other benzos.

I found the hangover to be slightly more lingering than with the other benzos, personally.

Re: Midazolam questions

Swim ended up putting the liquid Midazolam on a plate in the microwave and cooked it up. It turned into powder and he snorted it. It worked pretty damn good.

Re: Midazolam questions

benzos are not generally water soluble and do not absorb well at all in the nasal cavities. also swim imagines microwaving it cannot be too good for the midazolam, but don't take swim's word. if swiy gets a chance to do it again, just drinking the liquid would be exactly the same as swallowing the powder. this should be much better than snoring it.

Please read the rules and do not self-incriminate. Refer to SWIM or equivalent, do not discuss illegal activities in the first person. Thank you. The rules can be found at the top of your screen, under "FAQ n Rules".

It can be snorted or taken orally(drinking it). Midazolam is a benzodiazepine, and benzodiazepines are generally regarded as reasonably recreational, though this is a personal taste. Some people absolutely love them, other only find them mildly recreational, and some even hate them. On top of that, Midazolam is the strongest benzodiazepines based on it's effects. Only twice the standard dose is used intravenously to render a person unconscious(it's often used for this purpose in hospitals, as a pre-anesthetic to induce anesthesia) Because of it's insanely strong effects, there are plenty of people who do like "normal" benzo's, but find Midazolam just too overpowering and too strong. It causes very severe retrograde amnesia(being unable to form memories), so one does not remember the experience, making it fairly useless as one can not remember if one had any fun from it or not). It also posesses very strong sedating and hypnotic effects, often just knocking one out to sleep for the duration of the experience. Ofcourse if you're asleep instead of enjoying it's effects, it little worth. You can't enjoy a drug when you're sleeping on it.

Benzodiazepines are indeed generally not water soluble, nearly none is water soluble, but Midazolam is one of the rare exceptions. Midazolam comes as the HCl salt when used in solutions for injection(Or at least Dormicum ampoules do), and as the maleate salt when supplied as Dormicum tablets. The only other water soluble benzodiazepines are; Flurazepam, which comes as the HCl salt, and Clorazepate, which comes as the Potassium salt.
