IV use of 5-meo-dmt

A friend of mine brought some 5meo over to my house this morning and wanted to smoke some with me. I've been bored out of my mind smoking the shit over the last few years so I decided to be bold and load up my rig.


Now I would not recommend doing this because I have seen people have seizures smoking this much dmt, but I'm a careless man. I put 75mg onto the spoon, dissolved it and injected it (shulgin did 1mg, pussy).


Report: the song black peter had started when I was first registering my vein, i blacked out, and the song was ending when I came to. No memory of the experience unfortunately.


Afterward for some reason I felt extremely freaked out so I poured myself a glass of jw black and chilled out for a good 20 minutes. Then I decided 20mg might be a better dose. Injected that, blacked out and didn't remember anything.


Has anyone had better success with IV use? Am I dosing too high? Shulgin didn't report much recollection from the 1mg shot he did in tihkal.

You are doing way too much, Shulgin recommends 2-3 mg for IV, which is a much more effective way than smoking. I am amazed that you didn't hurt yourself by taking so much, but not surprised you can't remember anything from the experience, Swim has experienced blackout on high doses of plain DMT. You mention 75mg being a big dose when smoking DMT, but it's an even bigger dose when taking 5-meo and especially IV.


And Shulgin has reports ofup to 3,1mg IV in TIHKAL, with definite effects, you should start in that range, what made you shoot up so much in the first place?

This sounds like a joke (got bored with smoking this?.. eh) .. 75mg IV is quite absurd to do. Most people doing over 30mg smoked (with proper technique so that they really get all in) have a blackout, so that amount is simply wasting time, 5-meo-dmt and risking your health.
ld50 is propably very high for 5-meo-dmt though, but some people have still had bad reaction to much lower doses with severe vomiting, psychotic behaviour and very long and disturbing after effects. Well, it is your life, so do what you wish, but if you want something useful try lower.

it's no joke, i had drank about a pint of jw black before-hand and was feeling mildly self-destructive, and quite honestly didn't think it would kill me for a second. You know how it is when you're drunk, I think I was sort of trying to shock my buddy as well.


the 5meo certainly wasn't cut, it was ordered from a very reliable rc company that has since been run out of business by the dea. I did 10mg today IV and actually had a very good experience. I realize it was an absurd thing to do. In fact I only really posted my experience because I think I might possibly have been the first person to ever IV that much and figured it would be good to note that it doesn't appear to be a toxic dose.

Well, if your intention was to give one more reference point on the safety of 5-meo-dmt, you got that done. Also if you wanted to show how big balls you have, you certainly managed to do that too, even 10mg IV seems like something I could never ever dare to do.

A friend of mine worked in a biomedical research lab at a major university in the Boston area. One of the things he did was inject rats with 5-Meo-DMT as part of a research project. I don't recall what exactly they were looking for. But they gave the rats a large dose. The rats would black out and get severe nosebleeds - which I have seen people get who smoked large quantities and blacked out as well. This would suggest that capillaries in the brain were being broken from an extreme rise in blood-pressure. This is inviting brain damage.


I would certainly advise against using any dose of 5-Meo-DMT that results in a loss of consciousness for what I would hope are now obvious reasons. Good heavens!

No, I didn't lose conciousness. When I use the term "black out" I'm simply referring to a complete lack of memory of the events that took place during a period of time. According to my friend my eyes were open and I appeared to be very much awake.


I suppose I shouldn't have used the phrase "came to" either in my original post. It's misleading and implies a loss of conciousness.

For all intents and purpouses I was not concious of anything at that time, but I was not asleep. My eyes were apparently open and not rolled back in my head or anything. I don't know if this could be called unconcious or not. But if you would call that still being concious, then I guess I was. Now I certainly didn't move, speek, or in any waygestureduring the duration of either black-out doses. I was described as being in a vegitative state.


I believe it, that my eyes were open anyway. I don't see why my friend would lie to me, even though he very well could if he felt like it. I have no memory other than needle goes in and I go out. This lapse of memory, much like time travelling, is what I refer to as a black-out. Any alcoholic will clear the term up for you. There is a big difference in conventional speech between blacking out and passing out.
