SWIM was wondering if someone with a little more in-depth medical knowledge than him could answer this.
Does the use of Opium Poppies (& Opium in general) usually put much strain on one's heart? SWIM asks because he has Marfan Syndrome, which is a condition affecting the body's connective tissues, and can cause heart problems such as enlarged/weakened aorta (aortic root dilation) and floppy valves. SWIM has been told that his heart does not appear to be particularly unhealthy at present, but is worried that he may have to live life without his favourite "treats" (i.e. occasional Opiate/Dissociative use). So basically - does Opium put much strain on your heart? SWIM isn't talking about dancing around like a mad 'un while taking it, obviously. |
