To anyone who hasn't heard of him he is a drugs guru + took more cid than u had hot diners.here are his quotes
Timothy Leary Quotes Civilization is unbearable, but it is less unbearable at the top. Timothy Leary If you don't like what you're doing, you can always pick up your needle and move to another groove. Timothy Leary In the information age, you don't teach philosophy as they did after feudalism. You perform it. If Aristotle were alive today he'd have a talk show. Timothy Leary Learning how to operate a soul figures to take time. Timothy Leary My advice to people today is as follows: If you take the game of life seriously, if you take your nervous system seriously, if you take your sense organs seriously, if you take the energy process seriously, you must turn on, tune in, and drop out. Timothy Leary Science is all metaphor. Timothy Leary There are three side effects of acid: enhanced long-term memory, decreased short-term memory, and I forget the third. Timothy Leary We are dealing with the best-educated generation in history. But they've got a brain dressed up with nowhere to go. Timothy Leary Women who seek to be equal with men lack ambition. Timothy Leary You can always pick up your needle and move to another groove. Timothy Leary You're only as young as the last time you changed your mind. Timothy Leary |

Here's a few more Timothy Leary quotes:
"Think for yourself and question authority" </font>- Timothy Leary</font> "The universe is an intelligence test" </font>- Timothy Leary</font> "A man without justice is a beast, and a man who would make himself a beast forgets the pain of being a man." </font>- Timothy Leary</font> And here's a longer quote from Alexander Shulgin: "I, as a responsible adult human being, will never concede the power to anyone to regulate my choice of what I put into my body, or where I go with my mind. From the skin inwards is my jurisdiction, is it not? I choose what may or may not cross that border. Here I am the Customs Agent. I am the Coast guard. I am the sole legal and spiritual government of this territory, and only the laws I choose to enact within myself are applicable" - </font>Alexander Shulgin</font> </font> |

Some Richard Alpert quotes, since he was so close with Mr. Leary:
<h1 style="margin: 0pt; font-size: 12px; font-weight: normal;">"The most exquisite paradox… as soon as you give it all up, you can have it all. As long as you want power, you can't have it. The minute you don't want power, you'll have more than you ever dreamed possible."</h1> Sounds strangely reminiscient of Fight Club... <h1 style="margin: 0pt; font-size: 12px; font-weight: normal;">"It is important to expect nothing, to take every experience, including the negative ones, as merely steps on the path, and to proceed."</h1> "If you think you're free, there's no escape possible.</font>" <!-- var SymRealOnLoad; var SymReal; Sym() { window.open = SymWinOpen; if(SymReal != null) SymReal(); } SymOnLoad() { if(SymRealOnLoad != null) SymRealOnLoad(); window.open = SymRealWinOpen; SymReal = window.; window. = Sym; } SymRealOnLoad = window.onload; window.onload = SymOnLoad; //--> |

There is much intelligence here and that is the whole point regarding altered states: to increase your intelligence and expand your awareness |

"Put it into historical context. The use of sacramental vegetables has gone back, back, back in history to shamans and the Hindu religion and Buddhist religion. They were using soma. It's an ancient human ritual that has usually been practiced in the context of religion or of worship or of tribal coming together. I didn't pioneer anything. The use of psychedelics for spiritual purposes was started in the 50s by Allen Ginsberg and William Burroughs."</span> </span> "Acid is not for every brain - only the healthy, happy, wholesome, hopeful, humorous, high-velocity should seek these experiences. This elitism is totally self-determined. </span>Unless you are self-confident, self-directed, self-selected, please abstain." </span> </span> |

Quote:
Referring to government research into psychedelics he said (in the nineties): "I wouldn't trust the government to fuck around with my head!" and "The Lord is my shepherd. What does that make us? Bah, bah.." (90s) "Start your owm religion, baby." (60s) Edited by: enquirewithin |

Pioneer Timothy Leary ... give it up, turn on. What Professor Leary did (to explain the Wonders of LSD) was BIG stuff. He was a tenured Professor at Harvard University (a good job to keep: freedom to teach as he pleases, money, ...). He knew (even though acid was "legal" at the time), that he would be fired for teaching about it to classes of "the brightest minds" in the country (after all, parents, who endow the school with millions of dollars each year, are NOT happy to hear that their "genious" child is learning how to Tune Out from this "facade" of life). He boldly followed his convictions: This stuff is magic for the soul! He, indeed, became the LIGHT of the world ("I've done it ... you can do it too"). Try it, you'll like it. So, we each can Drop Out of life (Let Go of our attachments to things, to judging, to comparing). So,this is how he found his zest for life: I Let Go, completely, and then the world (and all of its trappings) areseen as nothing (this state is an Enlightenment). I am (at this second) un-attached to this world (peace rushes in: Nothing to do, just experience peace, calm, excitement). Then, quickly enough, I will return to the this-worldly existence, because I am attached to the world. Now, it is a place(set-up for me), to choose the things (day-to-day) that I want to do, and DO them. I do the same things, but now I do them for a different reason (I WANT to do THIS, and this, and even that). For those of us who haven't had this awakening (like me), we can feel that way about little parts of our daily lives. For instance, I hear someone un-loadingher life-drama (whew!). Then (sometimes), I can just listen with compassion (she's getting this out, Letting Go), and respond to her grief with happiness and understanding. There. This world is a facade. Her current feelings will pass; she is on her own journey for self-awareness; I am happy for her. Thank you, Timothy Leary. A loyal fan.Edited by: Solidly-here |

Timothy Leary worked on a computer game called Mind Mirror </span>in
the mid 80s. As software its very outdated but Leary fans might have fun with it. It comes on floppy disk, but you can download a version which runs from a hard disk here: http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?id=726 There is even a PDF manual. |
