Drug info - Poppy Seed Tea Question

lately I have been making poppy tea using seeds I purchased from various supermarkets with almost no success. Then I started purchasing "his" seeds from various organic, health food stores. They come unpackaged in giant bulk container bins which you pay for by pound. I am confident these seeds will work because they appear unwashed and even have little pieces of what I assume in poppy plant material mixed in with them.

I'm in the process of making the tea right now....and I am wondering...what color should be end result be? Right now it is sort of a murky, dark yellowish color thats very close to a shade of light brown. how do i know when all of the precious alkaloids have been extracted?
