Weight - No Scale: How to Weigh Mushrooms?

SWIM is looking to try shrooms, but doesnt have a scale to measure how
much he'll be intaking. Told him i'd check to see if i knew any ways to
measure approx.

If Swim is buying them his pusher can tell him how much is in the bag,he can eyeball it from that.

Well, I don't have a scale either ATM, so I just use a guideline that 4
dried, average sized mushrooms (cubensis, around 4") is in the range
of 1/8th of an ounce (3.54 grams) when dosing. By no means precise
though, so be careful.

If anyone has a better way, I'd be interested to know too.

Buy a dime of pot and use a dealers scale. Or if SWIM is friends with a dealer s/he most likely wont have a problem with letting you use it. Finding scales for milligramsis the hard part.

FYI, a US nickel weighs 5 grams, a penny weighs 2.5 grams, the pop top
on a can of diet coke weighs about .27-.28 grams. Actually holding a
coin in your hand and trying to compare it with a bag of shrooms in the
other hand is tricky because of the volume difference, it's like a
physical illusion. Put a penny and 3-4 pop tops in a baggy, then close
you're eyes and compare.

If you are getting an eighth (3.5g's) from a dealer, then take the bag and separate the mushies into two trips. Making both piles as close to the same as possible. While it will be real hard to make them exact you can get close. SWIM has many friends who have done it this way when splitting an eighth, and they did just fine

Follow ISBN's post and fashion a scale. A simple stick that will evenly balance a scale on each end in a baggie will do. Remove one nickel, replace with mushrooms until it balances again. There you have 5 grams weighed, approximately. Enjoy!

What kind of bag weighs 5 grams? there is an eighth (3.5) or a quarter (7), never heard of a 5g bag... just wondering what's out there that i dont know about so dont think i'm flaming you

You could always go into the smart shop where you got them and as for them to weight them.

You wont OD on shrooms or you could if you tried but i doubt you have the money to buy that much usually you can buy a 20 or a 50 ethier would be good to eat or both for 1st time a 20 which is like 1-2g SWIM never used a scale with shrooms and its only been good time for him. You only need a scale for like Rchemicals and stuff like DXM thats where its neccessary unless you want a trip to the hospital

Is there anyway that SWIM could measure his dose of shrooms without weighing it? SWIM dosn't own a balance and has an oportunity of doing shrooms he dosn't want to waste.

clearly its not going to be exact. sometimes theres higher density. are these dry? what type of shrooms? all of these things are important to know. cubensis 3.5 grams for a first time is a pretty strong experience. is this swiy's first time?

This is SWIM's first time and they are dry P. Cubensis Mexican strain. Is there about an average on weight per inches or centimeters? Or perhaps per shroom?

Oh come on, SWIY can't be serious... an average weight per shroom? Nobody
should ever dose based upon such vague guidelines.

Accurate digital scales can be purchased for under $20 lots of places.

Just doing a quick google search

Easy way to make a balance is take two baggies taped or clipped to a straight ruler/stick/whatever on each end.. In one baggie, one can place a nickel, and the other shrooms until it is centered and balanced.. This would give you 5 grams of shrooms, then, one could divide that into two, and get a nice dose, of about 2.5g of cubes, although, for a first timer, it may be a bit high... This can provide some kind of gauge, though.. Also, some postal scales can be purchased for under $5-10 usually at headshops, or possibly other department stores..

so, SWIM is very excited about trying mushrooms for the first time, but there is a small problem... the only scale SWIM has gouse up by 10 grams at a time, and the lines are like, 1 millimeter apart, so there is no way to really achive an exact measurement of swims dose. swims friend said, "you may be able to trip offa one, but just go with 2 for a normal trip, maybe three for a harder trip." i do not want swim to go by this, as i know it would be more pleasurable to be sure he had the right dose. any ideas, as swim is very eager for when he gets his mushrooms from his friend, hopefully tomorrow, which should have been today, but the dealer was out...

swims friends advice just doesnt seem like a very good dosing measurement.

powder the mushrooms,then weigh up 10 grams and dived it into 2 piles you know have approximately 5 grams in each pile,take this and cut it in half and then youll have 2.5 grams,etc etc etc.

good idea, the only problem is SWIM isnt exactly sure how much he is getting, as this is his first time, and he only paid 10 us dollars, and swim told his friend that if there were enough that he could take a couple. i will have swim try this before the mushrooms are ground up. wish swim luck in actually GETTING his mushrooms before the weekend.

If one cannot accurately measure the dose he/she is going to take, the best rule of thumb to go by is start off small and work your way up until the desired effects are reached.
