Stoned for 4 hours, reduced for four weeks. What's your take?
Hello,
I remember a old anti cannabis campaign which was broadcasted a lot, which went like this: - Stoned for 4 hours - Dull/reduced for 4 weeks Naturally, this is total BS. But I would like SWIY's take on it. For how long after a good toke does SWIY feel residual effects? And does those residual effects feel to SWIY? I know everyone's different, so I'd really like to hear how different people react. e.g. I remember SWIM used to have some problems with focusing the eyes when he tried to read something the day after a toke. |

To be honest, when swim gets stoned, he falls asleep and the next morning he feels right as rain. No noticeable side effects whatsoever apart from feeling great.

Re: Stoned for 4 hours, reduced for four weeks. What's your take?
Depends on the strain, the amount smoked and SWIM's general fatigue levels. When he smokes at night before bed, he usually wakes up feeling a little bit hazy but that tends to pass after an hour or so.

Re: Stoned for 4 hours, reduced for four weeks. What's your take?
Well, by the time our stoner friend felt "perma-stoned" he had smoked multiple times daily for nigh unto a year. At that point he says he wishes he could have gotten stoned for 4 hours off one session (tolerance kept his highs mostly to 1-2 hours, thus smoking multiple times daily), but he didn't feel "right" until a month or so after quitting completely.
Others we know tell the same story as many on this board; go to bed high, wake up refreshed, renewed, and ready for work/school/whatever. One friend will admit that if he falls asleep stoned, he feels "off" for the next day (until he sleeps again), but if he smokes 3 or more hours prior to bedtime he doesn't get this effect. |

When swim smokes pot, he feels really good and when the blaze is over, the side-effects can be noticed. They are everytime different. But when he smokes and after goes sleeping, In the morning he feels really, I mean really fresh and awaken.

Re: Stoned for 4 hours, reduced for four weeks. What's your take?
SWIM got stoned hard last Friday. It was great - a very trippy session, SWIM felt OK on Saturday. Then Saturday night SWIM got high on Salvia Divinorum. SWIM doesn't know what's going on but it's Monday 8pm and he's still tripping, time moves in all directions, he can't concentrate and his skin is super-sensitive to touch. A drop of cold water feels like a bucketful.
Mates who accompanied him are 100% OK, tough. SWIM's only tried weed 2x and salvia 6x - very trippy everytime. |

Re: Stoned for 4 hours, reduced for four weeks. What's your take?
First off some money needs to be put into research so these lame commercials don't come out, unfortunately since weed is schedule I(in the US where most drug research is done) it is pretty much impossible to do study because the Government makes it pretty much impossible to legally obtain marijuana to study. And no doctor/researcher would want to be risking there job (and there freedom, ie out of jail) to study the effects of marijuana. In most states marijuana is the number one cash crop, and the government won't even let us study it. Bull Sh*t.
When swim first started smoking he felt hazy the next day, but now the effects go away after two hours. Swim believes the more one smokes the less likely they are to notice it the next day. After a day all of the THC are stored in fat. It would take a lot of running and no eating to burn enough fat to release a significant amount of those metabolites, and they are metabolites, not THC. The campaign probably started because the thc METABOLITES are still in swims system for about 4 weeks so therefore one might think that the effects last that long since the "drug" is still in swims system. But once THC is broken down and stored, as said before these metabolites are no longer active and have no function on cognitive function. |

Re: Stoned for 4 hours, reduced for four weeks. What's your take?
Little Red Dinosaur tends to feel a bit hazy the next day depending on the amount smoked. His sessions these days tend to be fairly spread out, and at most a couple of days after a big session he will feel fine. Taking a break for about a month makes everything change majorly, apathy actually tends to be more present the longer little red dinosaur abstains...

Re: Stoned for 4 hours, reduced for four weeks. What's your take?
I like the title alot. SWIM thinks that if he was to be "Reduced" for more then a reasonable amount of time, ie; The same or less amount of time then the actual high lasted; Then he would have to smoke like a chimney, or eat alot of hash/THCakes.
However, SWIM felt off for a few days after eating around 15 grams of golden sticky hash before boarding a plane to the USA. SWIM was deffinatly reduced for a good few days, not to mention barley being able to speak after clearing customs, almost passing out in the boarding lounge and feeling a realy overpowering stoned feeling for atleast 12 hours. SWIM normally is mistaken for being stoned when he is completly sober, I think by nature he is a very relaxed, a little out of it kind of person. Peace. |

Re: Stoned for 4 hours, reduced for four weeks. What's your take?
If my friend smokes a lot in one night he tells me that sometimes he feels a little "different" for one or two days afterwords. He also told me that this feeling is more pronounced if he smokes a lot for three or four nights and then stops suddenly.

SWIM smoked last night, tripped balls and eventually fell asleep on a sofa.
Woke up, still high and he went off to his college. Started coming down recently but dosent feel at all dull, since he still has some weed left |

Re: Stoned for 4 hours, reduced for four weeks. What's your take?
lol tryptamaster, swim used to get that exact same thing. He knows precisely what you are talking about. The first maybe 10 times I got high (maybe less), Swim felt as if his waking moments were a dream for the next 1 or 2 days. Swim felt sort of lightheaded, and maybe even dizzy for short periods of time, and felt rather disoriented and "out of it".

Re: Stoned for 4 hours, reduced for four weeks. What's your take?
What SWIM finds dumb is that all the teens who were kicked out of the only highschool in town last year for smoking pot were let back in (good thing) but what is dumb is that one of the school counsel members asked SWIMs friends if they were going to smoke weed after school and when they said "Yea" the counsel member said that Marijuanna effects last more than 48 hours. So when SWIMs friends asked if he ever smoked pot the counsel member said no.
I don't see how people like this don't feel like total idiots. |

Re: Stoned for 4 hours, reduced for four weeks. What's your take?
When Swim first began smoking, Swim used to feel "faded" the day after smoking quite a bit. It was a kind of pleasant feeling of relaxation and disconnect with the pace of everything else. The feeling lasted for a most the morning before going away.

Re: Stoned for 4 hours, reduced for four weeks. What's your take?
My imaginary friend tells me that he tends to feel a bit heavy headed and stupid the morning after he smokes. While he was doing his A level exams he tended to smoke every night before going to sleep to relax him and help him sleep. It was usually ok because most of his exams didn't start until 1 in the afternoon but the one exam he had in the morning, he felt, didn't go so well.
Normally he wouldn't be smoking at such a crucial time for level-headedness but he was fairly stressed and thought it to be the best way to help him get to sleep. In the end it was a worthwhile move as his grades turned out alright. If my imaginary friend goes a long period of smoking every day he tends to feel fairly stupid for up to week afterwards. However, when he smokes very frequently like this he loses the urge to smoke and then tends to go a few weeks without. |

Re: Stoned for 4 hours, reduced for four weeks. What's your take?
No noticeable lasting psychological effects, but there are lasting physical effects for SWIM since he enjoys playing sports and finds he feels sluggish for up to 4 days after having a heavy weed session. And finds he is less motivated to do physical activity for that period of time and sometimes for a week or more after.
