Effects - Can any drug mess you up more than Salvia?

SWIM took salvia for the first time last nite and, believing that a legal drug couldn't be too strong, was totally unprepared for sudden feeling that the universe was collapsing while at the same time not knowing what the universe was in any normal way. Undoubtably the most terrifying experience of his life.
Anyway, this trip prompted SWIM to wonder whether there is any drug which can fuck you up to such an extent. By "fuck up", I mean remove SWIM from reality to such an extent. SWIM really can't think of any such drug. Even if you're having a meaningful conversation with a Aztec fairy after taking LSD you are still functioning in a reasonably normal way: on high doses of salvia SWIM would feel that a Aztec fairy would be a welcome return to reality as his experiences have been so mind-blowing that he can't even describe them.

It's funny swiy should say that about salvia. Swim actually tried some himself back in may, he smoked at least 5 bowls of pure leaves and 10x mixed together. All he got for his effort was increased salivation and a slight feeling of physical expansion. But for the people that feel effects from salvia, from what swim hears, it's definitely the biggest mind-fuck he knows of.

This is going to sound absolutely retarded....because it is.

One time, Joan of Arc was driving in a truck with a couple of friends on the way back from a trip. They were out of pot with no way to get more anytime soon, so they'd stopped at a grocery store and picked up nutmeg, which they knew got you high if you ate enough.

Then, Joan of Arc got the bright idea to see what happened if you smoked it. She says it sizzles, like marijuana resin, but is possible to smoke. Thirty seconds after her first hit she blacked out and swerved across two lanes of interstate, and would have killed everyone if it hadn't been 2:00 am in the End of Nowhere.

She then continued smoking it, and no one in the car was remarkably alarmed, or thought twice about it for days. They don't know how long they smoked, because thats the last event they all remembered. Later, they checked the jar, and they'd smoked like half of it.

All of them were EXTREMELY depressed, temperamental, confused, and suicidal for the next few days, not to mention ill, and had disturbing, unstoppable, morbid fantasies for about a week. They were also having both visual and auditory delusions - thinking people were calling their names, or seeing someone standing over their bed, that type of thing, for the next 2-3 days. All of them experienced this pretty much to the same extent. It was one of the absolute worst experiences of Joan of Arc's life.

Does this sound worse than sativa?

Its legal too... they sell it at the damn grocery store. Who would guess?

Correcting typo: "Salvia" was meant above, not "Sativa", lol. Also, it may be important to clarify that they only went to the grocery store at all because they were hungry and it was the only store open. The nutmeg was sort of an extra they planned to get, not the whole reason for stopping.

Salvia made a fun experience for Charlie as he saw an experience of 2 days of a warp tunnel of black and white while experiencing strong emotional effects during the journey(all lasting 1 minute or so). The imagination is a strong motivator, as many hallucinogens teach how far it can reach and how far back it connects to reality

Swim did many many inadvisable things in her misspent youth, but easily the #1 absolute most idiotic thing she ever did (and did repeatedly, how do you like that) was to inhale the propellant from canned butane lighter fuel in order to “catch a buzz”. If swim took a few hits in the space of 10 mins. or so, the world around her would gradually fade out and she would find herself in a sort of lucid dream-state populated by visions which were usually inspired by her last visual perception prior to leaving this reality. Usually this state was not unpleasant; swim never felt threatened or frightened (though she should have).
This is the only thing in her experience comparable to her more intense salvia “trips”, the last of which scared the living shit out of her (and which she plans to post a description of later).

From what swim has heard since, the “dream-state” she experienced while using inhalants was actually due to her brain beginning to die from lack of oxygen, or something like that. She was only spared actual death because she couldn’t hit the butane while in this alternate reality. Of two things swim is certain – abusing inhalants in such a manner can kill or reduce one to a vegetative state instantly, and she was very very lucky not to have suffered such a fate.

By chance, SWIM happened to meet a local last nite who has a very heavy drug problem (most notably heroin) and he said that Salvia was the most extreme thing he had ever tried and he would never do it again. SWIM sure hopes he doesn't repeat that to people who would care.

Salvia is probably the strongest hallucinogen that swim can think of (though LSD is more potent, the trip is not comparable).

DMT is powerful as well, but different from Salvia, in swim's opinion a little weaker, though still very very powerful.

But swim just thinks that salvia is the most confusing, get to a high plateau on any dissociative, and swiy will definitely be on a different plane of thinking as well, but maybe more understandable.

There are PLENTY of legal substances which can fuck swiyou up, both in the ways sought after and those not.

Almost all drugs, and certainly most psychedelics are capable of reaching a point in which the reality that we are used to in our day to day lives disappears.

Now, does any drug catapult one into an alternate universe so suddenly, violently, and shockingly as salvia does? Probably not, my lab rat finds that that feeling of shock is unique to salvia. A monkey reaches deep space on dmt, but the experience comes on more "evenly", allowing a certain degree of preparation. Apparently moderate doses of IV LSD are fairly overwhelming pretty instantaneously, not something the test subject felt a need to repeat any time soon.

Phaze has had his experiences with inhalants aswell. He would not recommend anyone doing these. With his he took a huge can of butane economy size not just the little can, put the nozzle between his teeth and pushed in and started inhaling. He done this for a while, it felt warm going in and then gave him like a paralyzed nod with vision that looked like he was seeing through a bees eyes. He didnt feel as if he was as inebriated as salvia because he could still talk and think he had no ego death. He was fully aware of what was happening even when he slobbered. But he was unable to move.

Phaze would say salvia is more powerful, plus safe than inhalants(butane in this case).

Later, phaze being ignorant, took a bag and sprayed like half a can of butane in it and inhaled the whole bag, he almost passed out from this but it wasn't the same kind of high. It was a full nod, inability to move, while watching through a bees eyes what happens.

Albuteral, in phazes opinion would have to be stronger than salvia. He took 15 hits off from a asthma inahler (albuteral) and he had a out of body experience. he saw himself sitting on the couch, but this hurt his lungs and made his lungs push against his ribs and caused horrible horrible pain for a week later.

Luckily phaze is alot wiser now and will not try no stupid shit like that again.

So swim already posted in this thread back in august, but it's been about 5 months since then, and swim had some "successful" savlia experiences in that duration... In a buddy's car in his neighborhood swim and his two friends smoked salvia (the car was stationary, no worries). Swim was the 2nd to go, his first friend just laughed like a hysterical figure out of reefer madness, and then said nothing for a bit. Swim decided he'd still try it. He became completely detached from reality and was FORCED to laugh by some otherwordly force... It was really alarming. Some fragment of his shattered ego recoiled in horror at the feelings of: lack of control, bewilderment, and "mindfuck" for lack of a better term... For about 10-20 minutes afterwards, swim felt absolutely retarded mentally (not unlike being away for several days in a row on adderall, and then crashing and NEEDING sleep) while simultaneously baring the senation of pins and needles all over the back of his body.
he experienced none of that "hippy shit" (he means no offence, but that capsulates about 99% of the erowid reports experiencing tunnels, voices, and ethereal forces...), just hysterical laughter and feeling of madness. It's a taste of insanity, and swim won't be trying that again. (perhaps he didn't have enough, though, as he did still have at least a wounded sense of ego, that reallllllly didn't appreciate the madness that followed, just a thought)

Swim tried salvia, Swims experience is in the the experience sticky, Swim done a bowl for first time and just laughed intensly for 10 minutes n felt very sweaty, Swim then tried it a second time n It blew him away, swim blacked out for a bit and was seeing and feeling such intense things, swim cant explain that well but yeah it was scary lol
