Inhaling - Can't Hold In?

Alright so SWIM and his buddy went down to the convenience store and picked up a 0.1g pack of Standardized 30x for $10. Label said it contained 12mg Salvinorin A.

SWIM packed most of the bag (75mg) in a bowl. Using a bong and torch lighter, SWIM began to rip the bowl but coughed out the smoke almost immediately after inhaling. It was simply too much to hold in. SWIM is a very experienced pot smoker as well.

So SWIMs buddy decided to put less in his bowl. He put the remaining 25mg in, held it in but only felt a stoned feeling.

So how much 30x should SWIM be packing in a bowl? Also, should he pull the bowl out at the end of the hit to clear the chamber, just like when smoking weed?
