Snorting - a question or 2 about snorting Heroin

Swim was hit by a drunk driver a few years ago and has been intimate with opiates ever since. Over the past few months swim has been snorting H here and there (especially to avoid running out of OC and Percs) and he hasnt noticed any negative side effects (other than the itch lol).

From where swim is standing things are better than ever, but the ground beneath his feet is just a point of view so he would like to know what some of y'all think. Swim was wondering

A) Is it as easy to OD when snorting H as it is when injecting it? How cautious does swim need to be with his dosage?

B) Also, swim was wondering if the potential for addiction is as serious as it is for those who shoot the drug. Swim only partakes 2-3 times a week, but he is on painkillers for his injuries most everyday.

Pretty much swim just wants to know any dangers/advice when it comes to snorting H, swim says thanks to everyone

OD is def. possible with snorting. Keep a syringe with naloxone around just in case, saved a few Swimmers before.

Always play it safe with H, it can be crap one time and super pure the next dose, which means a big chance to OD.

Even using 2-3 times a week is pushing it. Swim would say no more than once a week.

Swim has learned much about opiates, and it does not take much to get an addiction started.

Use rarely as possible.

i would agree with the above and its also worth checking out what meds your on for pain releif,if these are opiate/opiod related then swim may well already have a addiction.....
whether you snort,smoke or shoot the potential for addiction is the same..

A syringe with naloxone in it isn't going to do anyone much good if they go over, if someone overdoses then it is very likely they would be either unconscious or in no fit state to administer naloxone.

i feel like since swiy is taking the pain meds daily for the injuries, swiy would definitely have a bit of an opiate tolerance already, and to add H into the mix could be dangerous if you over did it. just start with small amounts to ease into it...i mean just dont go blowing grams and shit, hah.

Sorry to hear about SWIY'S accident but at least SWIY has means to work

People really don't seem to get it...HEROIN causes ADDICTION...regardless of administration. One may be stronger than the other, but equally as addicting when it comes down to it.

There is a good chance of OD while snorting. Its a must that snorters learn to gauge their gear. Every batch is potentially and usually different unless SWIY is manufacturing himself so using the same amount SWIY used last night from a different purchase(keep in mind even if from the same dealer) can kill you...HAHAH! the things SWIMS and SWIYS do heh? So in SWIMS opinion and experience, if SWIY trusts the dealer, ask about the strength.

If its black tar, and smells strong and is more smooshy and stretchy than hard and crumbly and shiny, its most likely strong stuff. Mix a miniscual amount with water in w/e(spoon, cap, etc.) then test it. If its brown or white powder its strong stuff unless its cut to shit which is why testing is neccesary. Take out a very tiny amount, called a bump, enough to pile just on the tip of a key, knife, etc. etc. Do that then wait about 5-10 minutes, no less and gauge the potency.

Don't get too bold and just use it all up cause you're an "experienced user." Most OD cases are by older and more "experienced" users. Do not become careless cause it just takes that one time.

Another helpful tip, if SWIY has stopped using, then relapses with the same amount tused while addicted, there is a huge chance of OD. In fact it is the number one reason for OD. That and SWIY'S body becoming preconditioned to using in certain spots. For example, SWIY uses everyday in his/her room, morning, day, and night for months and months...SWIY quits then relapses after 6 days. When SWIY relapsed, it was in and empty alley way...guess what, since SWIY'S body was so used to dosing in SWIY'S room, this relapse coupled with the change of scenery is a lethal combo asking for OD.
