Opinions - Diazepam Vs Alprazolam?

Swim has a plentiful supply of 5mg valium. Recreationally, how should these be taken? In what quantity?
Swim can also get a few Alprazolam 1mg. Are they better?
Remember this is strictly for recreational purposes and to get a nice mellow feeling and a bit of euphoria.

Xanax is probably better at least in swims opinion. And 10mg valium or 1mg xanax is a good dose for a begginer.

Swim has the option to obtain some V, swim has never tried and is fairly interested. However Swim also has the option of some Norflex (Ophenadrine Citrate) which sound a bit more exotic. Swim reads on wikepedia that these are euphoric as well a muscle relaxant. Has anyone tried these (can't find a record on erowid) what did you think. Many thanks

Orphenadrine is an antihistamine and anticholinergic which is generally considered unpleasant. The drug Lomotil is basically an opioid to which atropine is added, they add the atropine to discourage abuse because of the unpleasant anticholinergic side effects that the atropine causes.

In SWIM's experience Alprazolam (xanax) kicks the shite out of Diazepam (Valium) 1mg of alprazolam, for someone who isn't addicted, can produce a great deal of relaxation and possibly sleepiness. SWIM has found that alcohol mixed with alprazolam intensifies the sedation. SWIM finds valium somwhat weak, but less addictive than xanax. Xanax is an ugly drug that can grab by your balls if you're not careful, nasty addiction for many. SWIM loves it combined with alcohol, cannabis, or any other treat for that matter

valium is less likely to make one an addict. doctors prescribe it often in absurdly small amounts relative to the powerhorse short duration xanax, a bottle of which could easily leave one with a dependence, and then worse, rapid withdrawal. in any event swim advises moderation for benzodiazapines, and alcohol for that matter.

Valium (Diazepam)

Says normal dosage is 2-10 mg 2-4x a day. for a an average of 19 mg total a day (6.5 mg 3x.day)


Xanax (Alprazolam)

Says .5 to 1.5 mg TOTAL a day. (Average of 1 mg total a day)
Maximum use for 8 months.

Alprazolam is the strongest of the two, yet due to individual body chemistry this may not always be the case, yet I would say that would be an exception to the rule

Xanax seems to be a better choice.

Both Xanax and Valium are efficient, but SWIM thinks Xanax is more enjoyable because it's less sedative (if you don't take too much) so less 'crashing' than Valium.
Xanax is also more 'mental' than Valium, which has a somatic component too marked for SWIM.

But it's only SWIM's opinion.
SWIY should taste the 2 drugs and make his own idea.

Alprazolam tends to be stronger, but not always a good thing. Also likely to cause more amnesia, which is hell, trust Swim.

First timer with alprazolam should start with .5mg, working up .5mg per hour (to be safe) until where you want to be.

Swim took 1mg his first time, and whew, he was out. Took another after that 1mg like a dummy for a total of 2mg. Needless to say he forgot the next 12 hours.

Valium dosages start at 5mg up to 15mg for first time. Swim will prefer diazepam aka valium over alprazolam personally. It's warmer and calmer. Alprazolam is too much like alcohol.

Swim agrees. Valium is a funny benzo in that there is such a fine line in dosage that makes it pleasant or not so. Swim suggests taking Valium in 5mg increments and waiting at least an hour before another dose. Swiy could take up to 40 mg of Valium and possibly have a pleasant experience, however swim finds that there is a big difference in taking 10mg vs. 15mg+ at one time. Don't dose over 10mg at once with Valium unless swiy knows what they are doing. Start at 5mg increments to be safe.

Swim thinks Diazepam is better. Alprazolam has such a short half-life and much stronger per mg and easy to feel good and take more, plus can cause blackouts if your not careful. Swim says avoid this one.
