swim was doing research and found that 93mg/kg causes toxicity...does that mean overdose?

If swim weighs 170 pounds...thats 77kg....which means it would take like 7grams to cause toxicity....

that doesnt seem right does it?

good question, not sure on the exact amount cos everyone's different 'heart, health etc'. but my opinion is depending on how much is taken at once from a straight state of mind to the high & naturally the duration of time & the amount consumed will all be factors to take in to consideration.

personally from the purest coke smurf ever had years ago. smurf weighs 65kg smurf reckons 3 to 4 of those grams taken with in 5 minutes would of caused a heart attack... so 7 grams of as pure as you can get sounds like a correct amount to me, you'll probably be down before they finished.

The value swiy has found is pretty close to the LD50 for cocaine. For all intents and purposes, you have figured out the conversion correctly. The LD50 is tested in mice rats usually and it is often difficult to say exactly how that would translate to humans. It's safest to stay well below that dose. The LD50 is the dose which has been found to kill 50% of the test population so it is hard to say what degree of toxicity would be found in individuals at that exact dose as some require a far lower dose to be fatal or even toxic while others require a far higher dose. Individual toxicity depends on a lot of individual factors. The safest bet would be to stay well below the LD50, especially if one is unsure how the substance may affect them at increased doses.

SWIM got back a drug test that showed the level in his system to be 3000 ng/ml. Court workers were very surprised at this amount, he isn't sure if that is high. May it be noted that it was also after not doing if for 36 hours.

The variation of the LD50 between species can be small or huge depending on too many factors to list; it can only be used as a value of general toxicity.

There is also a difference between individuals; SWIM read a report of a person dying of cocaine toxicity due medical use of the substance (20mg as a local anesthetic) yet there are many long term users who take it by the grams.

SWIM read a paper about cocaine toxicity that had some interesting data based on prediction and measured plasma levels of cocaine in hospital admissions, the results are that for a “normal” (without heart/vascular issues) 80kg male individual; 750mg IV/Smoked would be fatal with the margin at 450mg to 950mg, for intranasal about 1500mg with up to 500mg (+/-) margin of error.

The fatal overdose SWIM is talking about results in seizures, followed by respiratory and circulatory depression of medullar origin, this may lead to death from respiratory failure, stroke, cerebral hemorrhage, or heart-failure, symptoms appear extremely quickly, in a matter of seconds to 1-2 minutes for IV/Crack, however tolerance to cocaine toxicity varies dramatically between individuals.

Toxicity varies a lot; tolerance to the effects of cocaine can develop very quickly, even in hours during a “binge”, cocaine is a very short-acting drug with a half-life of about 1 hour this means the fatal dose needs to be delivered at once, attempting to snort several grams would quickly obstruct the nose preventing further insufflation and absorption, over 85% of overdoses are due intravenous use which is the most effective method of administration, 1000mg of cocaine easily dissolves in 1ml of water, so its rather easy to put too much and deliver a dangerous or outright fatal dose, SWIM as an intravenous cocaine user has many experiences he would rather forget about, but one of these days he will write them and post them.

Symptoms such as extremely dilated pupils, shaking, balance problems, pallor, bluish finger nails, red/white mosaic-like hands and/or feet, strange feelings in the head, vision problems, resting pulse over 120 and/or irregular heart beat, hyperthermia, chest or back pain, hypertension (over 140/90), breathing problems are among the symptoms that clearly say SWIY has done too much and depending on intensity the ER is a good place to go.

The only way to reduce the chance of lethal effects is to take benzodiazepines alongside cocaine, since they limit adrenergic stimulation, lower heart rate, blood pressure and reduce general CNS stimulation caused by cocaine, SWIM owes his life to them, however they are addictive on their own, change the subjective effects of cocaine and many people do not have access to them.

It is important to avoid smoking and drinking at least when using coke, over 70% of fatalities are smokers that where chain-smoking on top of the cocaine and were drinking alcohol too, that’s a suicidal combo but cocaine users are not aware.
