What the heck happend?

I am gonna try and make this short as possible.

SWIM first did speed(crystal meth) ffor the first time in his life about 3 years ago, when he got into it he remembers the first times being the best, undescribable, it was like the best thing since sliced bread.

You could say swim was addicted from the start, thats how good it felt too him.

He would continue to use for the next 6 months, about 4-8 times a month, he did note the effects demished as he used it more and more, however the "magic" was never actually lost as long as he recoverd for at least 3 days after use but as long he waited a few days the high would bassicly be just as good as the last.

So anyways swim had to move away and didnt touch the stuff for about 3 months straight... no drugs just ciggeretes. Going from Shrooms, coke, e, meth.

Anyways when he got back 3 months later, and tried meth again, it was as if it was a different drug, he didnt receive very much pleasure at all, mainly physical with a mild sense of euphoria. He couldent understand what happend, or how that makes since being that his tolerance should have have been lower than ever.

This was noted with Cocaine as well which used to give him a very similar feeling to meth though not as good in swims opinion.

What he started to see is the more and more he would get into it, and the more he started using again the pleasure seemed to came back slowly. Not like the first times he would use meth, and not like he remembers the drug, but it seems to get better as he uses more.

Whats up with this? I dont think its all too uncommon either, anyone have info on this? Experiences? I know i have seen something similar in the meth forum.

Re: What the heck happend?

The experience you have just described (as having happened to SWIM, of course) is mentioned in many, many pieces of anti-meth literature available on the internet, so I'm not going to cite a source. If you were interested in reading arguable statistics and facts stretched to their breaking point, I don't think you would be investigating SWIM's dilemma here.
The Anti-drug Gestapo claim that a meth user's first high is an unrepeatable hook that transforms a human being into a crazed addict, forever doomed to a dismal and pathetic life chasing a high that can't be duplicated for unexplained and largely researched reasons.
My friend Mario says that there's been so little genuine research and so much government-funded propaganda that by now it's nearly impossible to pinpoint the real cause of this phenomena.
Mario says to just go with it, and to note the experiences of others as a possible predictor. However, he does caution you not to rely on judgments gathered when reporting this to SWIM, since the power of suggestion has been proven to influence the brain's reaction to intoxicating substances.

Very few would consider it a sin to hijack a thread with three posts; you represent 1/3 of the total input, therefore it's relevant as long as it references back to at least one other post...

Here's an article over a study regarding the power of suggestion and alcohol; I tried to find the original source but it's not available on the internet. It should be reliable in itself, since the study was originally published by the American Psychological Association, and the article appears on a medical news site that I've utilized in the past. The findings should be applicable to any intoxicating substance.

And my friend Mario also agrees that it's possible SWIY has just obtained lower-quality drugs, but it wouldn't be unprecedented if this is not the case.

Re: What the heck happend?

Every single drug Swim has EVER done is never good as the first few times he did it.

Tramadol used to make him nod hard, like he might as well have being doing H. Not at all anymore. It does just about nothing. Swim has not had in 3 months, after using weekly back then, and trying the other day makes him just want to toss his stuff.

Alprazolam used to get swim drunk and euphoric. Now he just gets confused.

Hydrocodone used to make swim euphoric like cocaine and so happy. It's about 1/10 as good.

Cocaine make Swim fiend the first time he did it. It was the most amazing thing ever, and it was dirt. When he got to selling cocaine and having access to pure, he would not ever do it because he was always let down from having done it a lot more.

Nitrous used to be the most amazing thing for Swim. Now he just panics on it.
Drugs just are never the same once you do them more than once, really.

SWIM did meth weekly for about 6 months, it was always the same great feeling highs back then.

even when he stopped.

When he came back, it was a different meth.
