A cause for concern?

Yesterday SWIM split an 8ball with 2 of his friends throughout the course of 7 hours. After SWIM did the last line, he felt the cocaine euphoria but was too tired to keep talking so was silent, which he thought was weird. After it wore off, he's never felt more tired in his entire life and his back (spine and shoulderblades especially) was aching. SWIM slept for 12 hours after that and has now been up for 12. SWIM is experiencing general weakness, and slight discomfort in the arms (elbows, specifically) and fingers, which can be described as very light, periodical numbness, but no sharp pains or anything. SWIM ate a lot after waking up and the stool several hours later was very dehydrated. The heartbeat throughout that night was at about 120bpm, and the cocaine was purified with LeJunk's acetone wash method.

SWIM is not sure if this is all due to lack of rest, but does this sound out of the ordinary and if it does, should SWIM be concerned?

a gram of cocaine over 7 hours is quite a bit especially if its good cocaine. Rest, hydrate and wait it out

Re: A cause for concern?

SWIM has sleep over 30 hours after a massive coke binge, and he woke up like if a train had run over him, however numbness or tingling in the extremities after use is a symptom to look at, if it happens again check with a doctor, a cardiologist to be more exact, if it happens during use or shortly after a visit to the ER wont hurt, since they can be symptoms of really bad problems especially if they are intense and/or long lasting, search around or google “cocaine health” for more info.

It’s also very important to drink a lot; cocaine increases body temperature and causes dehydratation that goes unnoticed.

Re: A cause for concern?

Hey guys, a little update:

SWIM checked with a doctor several weeks after the incident and he said that the blood pressure is normal and that the stethoscope revealed nothing peculiar. SWIM denied doing cocaine when the doctor asked him about it.

SWIM seems to be fine, but everytime SWIM drinks coffee/is extremely tired after a hard day's work, the same discomfort in the left arm/wrist/hand returns, but no tingling or numbness.

Any ideas on what it could be? Should SWIM go for a more thorough examination with a cardiologist as opposed to a family doctor? SWIM would like to do cocaine again, but is wary.

Re: A cause for concern?

SWIM has talked to a doctor about some of these issues before... it is extremely important to be forthcoming with your physician in case there actually is problem. Also remember that Doctor client privilege is protected by the law and only a court order can supersede this. (Plus insurance records are completely sealed). Doctor's are there to help not to incarcerate... so go to your primary care physician the next time this happens.

Re: A cause for concern?

SWIM has looked around extensively and has decided that he suffered nerve damage, due to the similarity of the symptoms from the Local anesthetic page on Wikipedia.

Quote:
Localized Adverse Effects
Quote:

The local adverse effects of anesthetic agents include neurovascular manifestations such as prolonged anesthesia (numbness) and paresthesia (tingling, feeling of "pins and needles", or strange sensations). These are symptoms of localized nerve impairment or nerve damage.

Risks

The risk of temporary or permanent nerve damage varies between different locations and types of nerve blocks.

Recovery

Permanent nerve damage after a peripheral nerve block is rare. Symptoms are very likely to resolve within a few weeks. The vast majority of those affected (92–97%), recover within four to six weeks. 99% of these people have recovered within a year. It is estimated that between 1 in 5,000 and 1 in 30,000 nerve blocks result in some degree of permanent persistent nerve damage.
It is suggested that symptoms may continue to improve for up to 18 months following injury.

please do not trust what wikipedia or other online sources for such matters, get a thorough diagnostic from a medical professional, and a specialist if need be
