painful salvia trips.

My imaginary pet monkey wrote me a letter the other day with a question for you all:

Quote:
i tried salvia for the first time last night and my first trip was very unpleasant, i could feel myself "going under" but fought it because of the circumstances going on around me, i began to feel a rather strong sensation that i remember now as pain, almost like that of razor blades. i assumed that the pain and frightening trip was due to the situation, so i smoked some more a couple of hours later. i don't recall the pain during this trip but it wasn't nearly as strong of a high. i've smoked it once or twice more without the same sensation as the first time or nearly as strong of a trip. until maybe my fourth time, i felt myself "going under" again and was willing to go but my sitter and friends voices and laughter brought me back to. annoyed, i tried to successfully trip without the pain and without coming to, this time alone in my room. the trip almost automatically became excruciating and the pain was unbearable. reality was relapsing the last few seconds over and over and i was almost reliving the feeling of the last trip exactly.

does anyone else experience pain like this or of any sort? and if so, what is the cause or solution to having a successful pleasant trip?

Re: painful salvia trips.

Swim feels that when he moves during the trip. feels like pins and needles or extra sensitivity. So swim's advice is to not move.

Re: painful salvia trips.

thanks, i had another trip that was also uncomfortable but i think i've come to the conclusion that it was caused by the accumulation of sweat on a handful of cuts and scraps on my chest. i think it'll be completely different once it heals.

Re: painful salvia trips.

The feeling you're experiencing is a lot more like pins and needles (paresthesia) than anything to do with sweating into cuts. Salvia produces an abnormality in the nervous system that is not yet understood. Also, do not refer to yourself directly in terms of any drug use, legal or illegal. Self-incrimination is against the forum rules.

Re: painful salvia trips.

yea, i've heard of the pins and needles but i assumed the feeling was more like when your arm falls asleep and less like what i'm experiencing. an almost agonizing pain radiating from the area of the cuts.

SWIM actually enjoyed the pins and needles thing to an extent when he had it, it wasn't painful though and only vaguely resembled pins and needles...

SWIM had that on SWIMs one and only use, so far. It was a pins and nedle/pressure, both pushing and pulling, going up one arm across the chest and then down the other arm. SWIM at the time had difficulty describing the sensation. But like when someones leg goes to sleep is exactly the sensation that swim felt in the arms. But it wasnt what SWIM would call agonizing.

Himself? Directly? You're mistaken, he hasn't said any of this, it was typed out from the letter he recieved from his imaginary pet monkey.

Also, I think this could be due to the "pins and needles" like people have said, it could probably also be affected by moving around and generally having a bad reaction to salvia. MIC (My Imaginary Chimp) has had good and bad experiences with this amazing plant, but he has noticed the bad effects tend to come when trying amounts of large extract material.

Did your imaginary pet monkey enclose any notes or additional writings on the kind of salvia he had? Was it extract or just dried leaf alone?
Maybe your imaginary pet monkey is the same as my imaginary pet chimp and only prefers small doses of various drugs.

What is YIPM like with other drugs? Such as cannabis, does he enjoy it at small doses or large ones?

Cheers,
Jim.

Re: painful salvia trips.

Hmm...

Our friends and friends of friends have reported things such as feeling like each heartbeat "ripped" through their skin, like getting "stuck under a semi with an infinite number of wheels on an infinite highway" and just simple "sucking/pulling sensations" or "tingling". The first few definitely sound like pain, the others just odd sensations.

Re: painful salvia trips.

my imaginary pet monkey said he has tripped on the salvia zone extract, i think he said the green and yellow. after his first tripped he assumed it was due to an inefficient amount smoked so he increased the amount each time he smoked. my imaginary pet monkey smokes a steady amount of cannabis, and enjoys cannabis in large or small amounts although lately it's just been a bowl here, a blunt there.
