Smoking - Normal reaction? cannabis and alcohol

SWIM has smoked marijuana only a few times. Most recently he was doing 'buckets' with friends and drinking beer as well as smoking cigars. By about the third bucket, and after a joint had been passed as well SWIM began to feel very very sick. As a result, he relocated himself and narked in the grass :P

Is this a typical reaction and should he consider splitting up these two hobbies? Or could it be soley a reaction to the marijuana? Or maybe the buckets just killed swim

SWIM would think that it is not the Pot. More likley the cigars. At least that is what SWIM thinks maybe. Pot is not known to make people throw up really. Actually the oppisite

swim cannot smoke anymore due to the fact that grass renders him unconcious. world starts spinning and he collapses.

Swiy was probably too drunk and the weed intensified the effects of the alcohol causing swiy to throw up, usually marijuana helps lessen nausea.

Some people say smoke weed before drinking. That if you smoke after you start drinking you will throw up. This is mostly due to the intensifying effects property.

That's not the effects of cannabis. It might be laced etc, see a doctor. Cannabis shouldn't make you collapse or like drunk. It should be completely different.

Thanks for the replies. Swim did not have very much to drink that night, this is why he was puzzled. He drank only 6 tins of beer, over the course of a few hours.

He has been smoking cigars for around a year, and did feel sick at the beginning, but that feeling left him after he built up the tolerance.

Swim will smoke marijuana without drinking next time to see if he can narrow down the source of the problem.

When much younger and less wise, SWIM used to party fairly often. He could drink many of his friends under the table except when mixing with cannabis.

He never felt ill until after the cannabis hit his system, then outside and to the bushes he went.

He tells me though that he used to have "moderation issues" meaning that he wouldn't just smoke a bowl, but usually 1/8th to 1/4 oz split among a few people, all in one session.


To this day his body doesn't care for the combination, though he has learned moderation so he usually just ends up passing out instead of vomiting. Still, the effects seem overly strong for the ingested substances (Example: 3 beers and a bowl and SWIM will pass out within the hour). They seem to combine in a synergetic fashion.
