Daily or weekly DMT tea without MAOI additions
Does anyone have any experience taking a daily or weekly tea of Psychotria viridis or diplopterys cabrerana without any MAOI herbal additions. I am not looking to have an immediate DMT experience. Instead I am looking to slowly add DMT to my diet in the hopes that it enhances my normal meditative experiences. I know that nn-DMT is broken down through digestion, but I was hoping that within several weeks it might just add something to my daily meditations.

Re: Daily or weekly DMT tea without MAOI additions
First off DMT is illegal so you shouldn't be talking about doing it if you are (and I'm sure you're not). Here at the forum we try to make it clear when we're talking about our friends experiences and when we're talking about our own experiences. It's safer that way. You wouldn't want to take the fall for your friend would you? Also, since laws differ in different countries the moderators don't like anyone to incriminate themselves even if the drug is legal for them to take.
In my case I even despise coffee and think its from the devil. My cat on the other hand is a lush. He takes all sorts of horrible things. That's why I'm on the forums; to try and save him. Now, on to your question. If your friend swim where to take DMT daily without an MAOI it wouldn't cross the blood/brain barrier. Meaning it wouldn't likely effect him at all. Of coarse I'm just telling you what I've read. Tell your friend to try it if he likes and see what happens. Be aware that the Placebo effect can fool the best of us though so he should try it for a while with a critical mindset if he so chooses. Welcome to the Forums by the way. |

Re: Daily or weekly DMT tea without MAOI additions
Swim is pretty sure that it would cross the BBB without an maoi since smoking doesnt require an MAOI. However, the DMT would not make it into the brain because it would be broken down by MAO before it could have any effect, hence the need for an MAO inhibitor. Taking DMT daily without an MAOI would probably not do much of anything.

According to Jonathan Ott, 5-MeO-DMT is also active orally in capsules (so as to prevent sublingual absorption) in large doses without MAOI. |

Re: Daily or weekly DMT tea without MAOI additions
Thank you all for you responses. What swim states makes sense, but does anyone know if there is a way to naturally increase the amount of DMT in swims' brain over time without swim necessarily consuming DMT in some form?

Re: Daily or weekly DMT tea without MAOI additions
My cat believes that going through the lungs is a faster pathway than through the stomach. This means that the Brain would be bombarded all at once. With an MAOI I believe it lasts much longer because the DMT is trickling in from the stomach and not destroyed by the MAO's that the MAOI inhibits. Therefore the little bit at a time from the stomach goes a long way. My cat will soon try it orally with an MAOI.
If the op's friend is interested in just adding similar effects gently to his experience of life then he should take 5-htp it's the same thing and it's turned into seratonine while in your brain (Seratonin and DMT are similar). |
