Re: Need help identifying these mushroom
Mushroom identification on the Internet is very unreliable and dangerous. Even though Amanita muscaria is a very unique-looking mushroom, many species of the genus Amanita are deadly poisonous (as I'm sure SWIY knows). SWIY should consider joining a local mycology club.
Looks like Amanita Muscaria var. formosa to SWIM but could it be a Pantherina? |

Re: Need help identifying these mushroom
Pantherina generally have more of a brown coloration if i am correct. that looks more like the yellow form of Amanita muscaria

Re: Need help identifying these mushroom
That's definitely not a pantherina, they're a much darker liver-like brown colour. I'd say they're almost certainly a yellow variety of muscaria, though I should add that I've never personally seen any like that since I live in Britain and we only get the classic bright red ones.
Picked one today, in fact.

Re: Need help identifying these mushroom
And the appearance of the Amanita Sp. varies widely in different locations. For the North Country of New England - those would appear to look like A. Pantherina. But more extensive tests would be called for.
