Health - metabolic acidosis from prolonged GBL use

Hi, SWIM has been 'binging' on GBL most weekends for about two years, and the occaisional dose during the week, the dose is usually between 2 and 2.5ml and often combined with uppers, either Cocaine or Speed. in the last few months SWIM has been complaining of abdominal pains and strange bowel problems, I read on here about prolonged GBL use potentially causing metabolic acidosis, has any one else had similar symptoms after prolonged use, do these symptoms SWIm describes sound like a serious problem?

There is no way anyone can diagnose SWIy on line. I would say however that the abdominal problems and "bowel" problems are probably not from GBL. There is just not enough data to diagnose you and you may need lab studies and imaging. I would see SWIy's physician. Or possibly a GI specialist to whom SWIy may be referred...And one might consider stopping all drugs currently taken and see what happens.
