Experiences - Worst Experience of SWIM's Life

Firstly swim have tripped shrooms over 12 times, once swim ate an entire quarter. So swim and three friends got a hold of a half ounce, split it four ways and started to chill out.

SWIM have never had a bad trip personally- and swim was one of those people that was of the opinion a bad shroom trip was not possible provided you didnt eat too many, were in a good envirment and were mentally ready.

SWIM ate an 8th- and the rest of the night was in pieces at best- SWIM remember coming too not knowing who SWIM was, where SWIM was at, or why SWIM felt so bad. SWIM remember trying to remember SWIMs name and SWIM couldnt, keep in mind- he was tripping balls, getting stuck in stupid loops over and over. Eventually SWIM was in this hole type thing just counting second by second for it to be over---

SWIM would come to for short amount of times to realise i was extremely fucked up. SWIM completely forgot who my friends were, my identity, and that SWIM had taken any drug at all. My life was just confusing flashes of nothing-

SWIM ended up puking everywhere- SWIMs friends said it was the scariest thing they had ever seen because SWIM was on the bed thrashing around, and they could tell SWIM had no idea who i was or where i was at.

Keep in mind that SWIM have done many drugs, and tripped shrooms many, many times --- and SWIM takse a fairly conservative amount, im in my own house and then instead of having a shroom trip- SWIM forgets everything and start freaking out in my confusion of coming to with no knowledge of self or setting or anything.

What the hell happened? Do normal people who trip shrooms, end up tripping shrooms one day and for no apparent reason freak out? Have a trip where there is absolutely no control- your not aware who you are or whats going on and obviosley you freak the fuck out- Anyway SWIMs straight up finished- not because it scared SWIM that bad- it did - but SWIM would still try it again

but because if it hadnt been for SWIMs girlfriend who kept a incredible cool head while triping balls herself, trying to keep a 230 pound man who is scared and confused from loosing his mind completely --- someone could have easily died that night- SWIM was in that panic mode where SWIM was scared for my life, very confused, and ready to tear the walls down- I remember puking and thinking did SWIM drink a lot of beer? Why is swim puking? Whats happening- SWIM just knew something had went terrible wrong and i had no idea why or what.... maybe SWIMs just unstable and shrooms brought that out- its just SWIM has tripped shrooms so many times before and never ever had the tripped started with this uncontrolable mind fuck where he couldnt even tell hisself its okay, because SWIM didnt know who he was, and thinking was very difficult, straight up impossible at times- yeah it sucked longest 3 hours of SWIMs life---

Was this an eighth-ounce dried or fresh? This amounts to approximately 3.5 grams. This would be a pretty high dose if the mushrooms were dried and a very low dose if they were fresh, so SWIM is assuming dried. What species/strain are we dealing with here? Without more specific information we can't be as helpful as possible.

Remember that potency varies from species to species and from batch to batch. If SWIY did actually eat a quarter-ounce (7 grams) before without any problems, they must have been fairly weak as this is an extremely high dose, whereas SWIY's bad trip could have been caused by an eighth of very potent mushrooms (such as Copelandia cyanescens or Psilocybe azurescens).

Bad trips can happen to everyone, no matter how happy, comfortable and mentally stable they are. Psychedelics will take one to the depths of the subconscious mind and show them things they would usually ignore or typically not even realise. They can happen to the most experienced trippers.

Remember: SWIM or equivalent.

Yeah they were dried- When SWIM ate the quarter ounce, at times it was just as intense as the 1/8 that SWIM freaked out on, and most of the trip on the quarter was much more intense, the visuals were insane everything looked like claymation and covered in little sparkels- but he always knew he ate mushrooms, and he didnt forget where he was or who he was. This time on the 1/8 though SWIM would come to --- and just not know anything about my history, my setting or anything.


From what you have said about bad trips happening to anyone- makes SWIM feel better about it. SWIMs friends told me they had never seen anyone freak out that bad- and that SWIM should never ever do shrooms again because i snapped or something- SWIM figured that it was just one of those things that could happen to anyone if they trip long enough-- it was bound to happen- Most likely the shrooms SWIM took were very high potency as well. SWIM has thought about it and he might not give up shrooms completley- Thanks man

My friend ate a bunch of shrooms and freaked out once and was like attacking me and a bunch of other people who were at the same house.

He had done shrooms dozens of times prior to that but I guess something just clicked and he went crazy. I can't really offer an explanation, but you aren't alone

Sounds like a classic "bad trip" to me. SWIM has had quite a few of these. Not on any drug except mushrooms. SWIM has never lost his mind on any drug except for the magic mushroom.

Some mushrooms are drastically more potent than others, a lab grown liberty cap versus a field picked shit shroom for instance, and I agree with swiadvor, swiy had a classic negative psilocybe experience.

Its good to hear things like this happen to other people, and its semi-normal. Swim may eat shrooms again, but it will be a while.

not wanting to shroom after a bad trip is very common man..

swim tripped 7 times and had a bad trip every time, but swim still went back and done them again. the 3rd time swim tripped he felt like murdering some one, the last time he tripped he felt like murdering himself.
swim will never trip again, but he dont regret tripping. it for sure changed swims out look on life. they made swim appreciate his life, friends, family and his sanity.
