UK: Driving

I have been trying to find information about this, have even searched but still dont know.

swim is a daily pot smoker.

That person is pulled over, given the field tests and the police deem they "fail" so a blood test can be done.

What are the actual limits they are testing for? As the test is for influence, could one record the event with the police and use it as proof?

swim spends a lot of time with daily users and they never seem under the influence, but would surly have levels that would cause a problem with a test.

Thanks

Re: UK: Driving

UK Law currently requires them to prove intoxication, not metabolites present in the blood stream. We do not yet have a zero tollerance policy, so unless SWIY failed field sobriety tests or was driving in a manner which strongly suggested intoxication then it is not possible to persue a prosecution (I think). However, from what has been said it seems such a field sobriety test was failed, so it may well result in removal of license and a prison term.
