size of a drop is only (!) dependent on the surface tension and viscocity of the liquid. Standard water has ~25 drops in 1 ml, you can calculate the rest yourself. If water is diluted heavily with some chemical, it changes both surface tension and viscocity, thus changing the size of a drop.

a good scale is 5 drops per milliliter. therefore a 10 ml container = 50 drops

5 drops/ml?? I peg you pardon, that kind of liquid would be close to heavy oil. I've tried many kinds of liquid solutions and the thickest I've had was some 35mg/ml iprocin solution which had 12-13 drops per milliliter. I repeat, standard water has ~25 drops per milliliter.

25 drops?I am speaking of ethyl alcohol though, not water.I usual get 5 drops per milliliter in a 1 gram/20ml suspension of 5meoAMT. decanter size does have something to do with it (suface tension or whatnot) but thats quite a discrepancy. the bottle I use is one originally containing a liquid ticture, since has been cleaned, it hold 50 ml total, and has a small glass decanter attatched to the lid to allow for these drops. it even has a line of measure on the decanter marking one milliliter. 5 drops from the decanter = 1 milliliter.

I believe you, but it is because you have so heavy concentration, 1g/20ml = 50mg/ml, with iprocin that concentration (if achieved) would propably also have less than 10 drops/ml. So, remember that chemicals change the size of drops due to varying surface tension and viscocity.

youre undoubtedly correct, as I use a graduated cylinder to measure whats being put into the bottle. I often use heat to fully solute my suspensions, which probably wouldnt be recommended for the hydroxy compounds.
