Caught in possesion of cocaine

Hey folks, im hoping you could help me out on this one.

Back in March I was at a random house party and on the walk home and I got stopped & searched by the police. I forgot I had around half a gram of cocaine left in my pocket. I ended up getting cautioned on the spot and though that would be the end of it.

Landed home from work around an hour ago with a summons. Im in court in a few weeks. I can’t believe they would waste their time with something as petty as half a gram of coke. On the night in question I co-operated fully with the police and this is also my first offence.

Have been speaking to a few guys who tell me I will just get a slap on the wrist and or fine?? Can anyone back this up??

I also work for the Northern Ireland Civil Service and have recently applied for a promotion. Will a caution/fine affect this??

Will I need to attend court or can my solicitor go??
