A lighter and pipe works fine for extract, although its harsh on the lungs.

I'm getting a BC Vap soon...gonna try that out w/ some extract, if that
doesnt work I'm going w/ the vapor brothers...since it has a temp gage
I might be able to set it to the perfect temp to where it isnt burning
the leaves but still vaporizing what i want, lol.

I wouldn't believe a vaporizer would work better than a torch lighter with salvia.

I never said I've used one successfully, I'm just answering your question. From what I've read, vaporizers are "dangerous" because it is the most effective way of getting the ingredients out but in extreme amounts. That's why I say vaporizers are best. I've only used a pipe successfully with extract.

I did a search on this awhile back, and the conclusion was that most
vaporizers out there (i.e. thos eused for cannabis) weren't hot enough
to vaporize salvinorin. Also, it's a big hassle, and do you
really want to run the riks of knocking over a hot vaporizer while
having an out of body experience, even with a sitter around?
Stick with a plain old lighter that shuts off as soonas you put it
down, and if you really have sensitive lungs, just use highly
concentrated extracts like 20x. But be sure you measure
properly. You don't want more than the equivalent of 1 mg of
salvinorin.



To recap, extract strength is based on the convention that 1x = 2.5 mg
salvinorin per g of leaf. 10x is 25 mg/g, 20x is 50 mg/g.
So you have to weigh out less than one-fiftieth of a gram of 20x, i.e.
under 20 mg. See the post entitled "how much" for an easier way
using volumetric measurement, assuming you don't mind using less potent
extracts and inhaling a little more smoke.
