Can you switch lawyers at the police station, if you do not like the lawyer?

in the uk can you evaluate your lawyer befor you get questioned? e.g. you get caught doing something or with something or what ever get took the police station and they take you in for questioning.Well if you ask for a lawyer and you dont like the sound of him can you stop the interview and get someone else?

That would be bad timing. Best would be if you already know your lawyer before you see the police station from the inside.

So what happens when our in this situation?make do with a duty solicitor?Ive herd of a few people that when they have ad these they told them just to plead guilty.one person I know got caught with 3 0.5 (this persons dealer does £20 for one or 3 for £50)of coke an they tried to do him for intent to suply well that was the first charge,and his duty solicitor said oh just plead guilty you will proberly only do 18months :S

Best advice is "SAY NOTHING"!!!

Any/ALL Lawyers with half a fucking brain willgive this advice regardless of circumstances!!!!
The less people say to start with the less the Police have tobuild a case and the easier it is to make a story upif it goesrite through to trial.
Also this means that the Police are unaware of swimmers defences until its too late for them etc as the trial has already started....

It doesnt really matter what the Police charge swimmers with,only what swimmers are convicted of!!!!!!

Dont be a fool and play into the hands of the law,ya just making there lives sooooo much easier,make the bastards work for a living!!!!

oh and if ya dont like a lawyer or he/she isnt doing a good job or whatever of course you can tell them to piss off,and find another.......
