Purity - Hash yeild

Swim has jsut made some hash but is curious about whether his yeild is appropiate. Swim did an alcohol extraction with 200 proof (usp lab grade) ethyl alcohol on about 6 grams of stems. Swim got around 1/3-1/2 gram of hash. The stems were from mid-grade weed. Is this yelid normal, is there a ration of stem to hash yeild? and help would be much apperciated by swim.

I've never even heard of anyone making hash from stems. I'm surprised SWIY got any yield and whatever yield there is, I'd be surprised if it was actually active.

well dont the stems contain a little thc? if there is ANY this should have extarcted it.

I've heard that the level of THC in stems is comparable to the level of fat in ordinary household ketchup i.e. 0.1% trace at most. It doesn't seem worthwhile. Good hash generally requires a larger volume of legitimate cannabis buds put in than what you will be left with in hash volume. I don't think there are any shortcuts with it.

Uh-oh, looks like i wasted time for nothing. But im still gonna try it anyway. but nive actually heard of stems and leaves being used.

well, a simple way to tell is to have swiy try in and if it does, it does, if it doesn't then swiy should just get some low grade mids and make his hash out of that.

Theres a video on the internet that shows how to make a kief extractor for stems using a paper towel roller and a screen.

After shaken through the screen there is a whole bowl of keif smoked in the end. It should work, though not really worth the time to do all of that with.

As far as leaves, yes people use leaves alot, but usually throw the stems away, aswell as the seeds because you can get seed oil from them which is no good.

But the stems to contain thc then? and will be psychoactive, if you can make keif out of them wont they have thc???

Most likley the trick is to have decent bud and the crystals that were stuck to the stem will be extracted, as stems have little thc.

The end product of this extraction should contain thc, but only 6 grams of stems Phaze wouldn't expect more than a bowl of kief.

Yea well swim had to make hash and since he onyl got 1/3 a grams the yeild is like half a bowl. so that would make sense. thanks for the help.
