Tolerance - Tramadol tolerance / dosages:

SWIM finds that after a period of non-use, they can experience significant euphoria from 150-200mg dosages of tramadol (Ultram). However, after a recent period of only 3 days, during which they ingested tramadol each day, SWIM now experiences little to no effect from dosages as high as 500mg. SWIM's questions are:

1. How quickly does tolerance to Tramadol build up, and subsequently, dissipate?

2. Is it safe to increase the dosage beyond 500mg? SWIM has read about the possibility of 400mg+ dosages inducing seizure, but also has had no prior or family history of epilepsy or seizures of any kind.

Swim has not had very strong experiences with 150-200mg doses since he first used tramadol. He uses no more than once a week, with 300mg cap on his doses everytime. He finds any more to be a waste and not cause anything extra positive.

At the very least, use every 2nd to 3rd day. Swim has never used an opiate more than 1 day at a time. Tramadol tolerance is tricky, it reacts differently with everyone.

swim has had hard times with tramadol tolerance..... swim thinks its best to not go over 400mg when taking tramadol.... for swim if he takes 400mg a day for a few days his tolerance doesnt increase but if he increase his dose at all his tolerance goes up real bad...... when swim was addicted to tramadol he would take 800mg up to 1gram of tramadol everyday without any problems, but one day he only had 600mg left so he just took them knowing it was a smaller dose than what he usally took and most likely wouldnt feel much..... well swim woke up in the ER from a seizure and he didnt know why he had a seizure off such a lower dose than his normal dose...... swim thinks that tolarance doesnt matter when it comes to having a seizure off tramadol, so just be careful about doseing..... its no fun to wake up feeling like shit in the ER

Swim has found he's never had to go over 450-500mg to get euphoria out of tramadol. This is Swim taking tramadol once, sometimes twice a day. When swim first begins to take it after a period of non-usage, he can also simply take 150-200..however after a few times he must up the dosage. If your tolerance is going up that fast, try taking it every other day, no reason to take it if you're not gonna feel it, that's a waste.
