Paraphernalia - testing pills

firstly apoligies if this is in the wrong place or a repeated topic, SWIM has done a quick search but havent found what he is looking for


what are SWIYS recomendations regarding pill testing kits, google searches throw up all sorts of stuff and just confuses SWIM. ideally im after which one SWIY uses (uk SWIYS 'may' be more beneficial in this instance)

any advice would be helpful tbh, what to be looking for when purchasing a pill testing kit etc

EZ-test Complete comes highly recommended. Available in all good head shops & on-line. Contains Marquis, Mecke, Simon's, Mandelin & Robadope as well as info leaflets outlining the main reactions - also somewhere in the archive should be a document with a list of reactions between many different substances & most of the main reagents...

Do remember that reagent testing will only give an idea of the contents, not a full analysis.

EZ-test and DanceSafe kits worked well for SWIM. At a minimum buy a mecke and/or marquis test if SWIY is trying to go cheap. If SWIY plans to test pills often and/or is experienced with testing, then go for an EZ-test complete or EZ-test extreme otherwise it's not worth the cost if SWIY only plans on testing a couple pills a year or doesn't understand how to perform and accurately grade the more advanced testing for primary or secondary amines or mixtures of substances. Ecstasy test kits go bad over time and stop working as well or at all; keep that in mind if buying an expensive kit.
