how heroin helped

hi there,
swim had a shoulder injury now for nearly 10yrs and swim has such low energy levels, sum days swim dont even want to get out of bed. Doctors beleive the injury was due to a boxing and sports which may have caused the injury but to this day cant diagnose me with a medical condition, so swim was left mind boggled with what and how to explain to people what swim has. Anways swim went through a phase of 4 month trying heroin and swim couldnt beleive how much it helped him get back to his feet, swim started taking it because he felt low and depressed and saw a friend taking it and used to see the effects it had on him, how he would change from being all snappy and moody to up and ready for anything. so after taking it a few times swim relised he wasnt aching or feeling tired or low etc he even started playing basketball hrs on end like he used to before my shoulder injury swim couldnt beleive the effects, my muscles werent getting fatigued either swim was actually getting in to really good shape, working out regularly things were getting so good swim was changing into someone he used to be, he was able to do things without even feeling any pain, even family at home couldnt beleive he was feeling so well. But as with all drugs swim had to stop my use of herion due to not being able to afford to feed the habit. Now that am clean from the drug, now hes struggling getting that full of life feeling where he can get up pick up a basketball and hit the courts for hrs on end, and the feeling to get in the gym and do a good solid workout without muscle fatigue, instead hes gettin the old feeling back where he used to just stay in bed aching from head to toe tiredness etc swim really hates this, but he really dont want to go back to taking heroin, as much as he used the drug to aid me back onto the love of my life (basketball, boxing and working out) swim just cant go back onto it, is there anyone out there who can explain to me or break down wot swim was experiencing and is there a cheaper safer legal way of getting that feeling back he dont care if he dont get a high swim dont want no highs he just wants the pains to go so he can do wot he loves best.
thank you very much

p.s just out of curiosity could morphine be the drug which gave swim all that effect? not sure if heroin contains morphine, just taking a guess.

Re: how heroin helped

Heroin is diacetylmorphine, and by itself has no central effect. It is metabolized into morphine by enzymes in the brain. Your brain is separated from the rest of your body by a lipid membrane. The two acetyl groups sticking off the heroin molecule increase the drug's solubility in lipids, allowing them to reach the brain faster, resulting in a potency inrease of 2-3 times.

Opiates certainly have profound physical and psychological effects: Pain becomes bearable, mundane existence becomes a dreamy adventure... Its hard to go back to regular life when you've experienced life 2.0. If heroin killed the old symptoms, would it not follow that the old symptoms would return upon cessation of use?

As far as legal(er) alternatives, doctors tend to prescribe opiates if their patients complain of chronic pain such as a shoulder injury, and I hear there's a certain flower that will synthesize morphine for you if you treat it nicely.

Re: how heroin helped

Swiy may want to try to find a doctor that specializes in pain management.

How many doctors has swiy seen? Have they done all the tests possible to find out the cause for swiy's pain - cat scans, mri's, etc? Swiy shouldn't have to live in consistent pain and there are a lot of doctors out there who just don't know what they're doing or don't care. Swim just wants to make sure swiy has gotten the proper medical care and just going to one doctor who can't tell swiy anything isn't enough in swims opinion.

If all else fails look search on poppies - there's lots of information on this site on how to relieve swiy's pain with these plants.

Re: how heroin helped

Codeine and hydrocodone are, while both habit forming, completely harmless. Its the paracetamol that you have to watch out for. It will destroy your liver. It can be removed from the opiate/APAP formulas with a simple cold water extraction.

Hydrocodone is more potent by weight than codeine and would be preferred over it.

thanks for that reply, i have been reading up on the cold water extraction, but what really confuses me is 30/500 co-codamol would give a reasonable euphoria but on some of the how to's online it explains crush upto 10tabs which equals 300mg of codeine once extracted from the paracetamol, now if i a30mg in co codamol gives a gud sensation for numbing pain etc would 300mg give a high soo bad it would cause damage? sorry if this is a silly question just never ever heard of this procedure til now.
thanks

Re: how heroin helped

it definitely helped swim relax. swim deals with a lot of stress, specially at home. 2 weeks ago swim did it. his mom made him do a lot of tedious paper work. and call bill collecters. something that usually bugs swim. but this time, swim was gladly doing it.
