Effects - Effects of Meth before its taken

SWIM uses meth or MDMA about 1 - 3 days a week. On occasion he goes 2-10 weeks without anything, depending on work, without any adverse effects, but as soon as he knows he is going to score, he starts to dry reach and vomits. Once he has a hit, then its all good. Same thing happens with both Meth and MDMA. Anyone have any theories on this?

odd. smurf is just gonna take a jab at what it sounds like to smurf. sounds like some sort of mental anxiety thing. does swey get very excited before picking up? like butterflies in the stomache thing? has swey gotten sick before on these substances & perhaps it's something triggered by a memory, like when people have drank way too much alcohol like flavoured sweet sambucca or shnapps. they usually put off it & the thought of it makes them want to throw up...

this is just a suggestion but SWIM recommends that SWIY doesn't take MDMA more than once a week because a tolerance can build up to it and lose its magic

SWIM says that he has never had a bad experience on meth or MDMA, except for feeling a bit down for a day or too afterwards.

SWIM does get somewhat excited before picking up.

Could it be some kind of psychological addiction? Does swiy feel a real need for it once swiy knows it's coming?

If not, swim would go with nerves - not necessarily from a memory of a bad experience but just an excitement to be using.

SWIM does only really feel a need for it once he knows its coming... SWIM does think about it a lot. but doesnt usually miss it.

Apparently it got worse after SWIM started to inject Meth 2 years ago, to the point where it was hard from SWIM to prepare it.

its most likely just excitement, the same thing would happen to swim when he scored heroin, even when he wasnt in withdrawls as soon as he got the h in his hands (before he injected) he'd get nauseas and once in awhile vomit.

Hi, I'm new here. I just want to share my experience. I was taking Meth since I was in High school. I really wanted to stop but I can't especially when friends talk about it. I get really aggressive when its been mentioned. I get the feeling of excitement. My friends influenced me to take it, And with so much curiosity I tried and got into it.But now I'm already done with Meth I kept myself busy by enrolling myself in schools. I'm studying Photography right now. I'm very happy with it. I am so happy that I was able to get out of my problem. If my friends mention about Meth or invites me to take Meth I could just easily say no without any hesitations. Thanks to IAFT. This is my way of rehabilitation and it actually works for me! The only problem I have now is to quit smoking! hehe... thanks for hearing me out guys!

First, swiLucifee: swiYou NEED TO READ THE RULES!!! regarding self-incrimination, etc. (if swiWe had a $ for every time this is posted in regard to a new poster.....)

Re: effects before taken......swiS had to put his 2cent in......totally agree w/ many of the above...(although w/ Heroin). When swiS would go a "Run", even if he wan't in any withdrawls, the closer he got...the sicker.....

What's crazy about it is, now swiS is on Methadone, but occasionaly makes a Run.....swiS hasn't been "Sick" since he started the maintenance program, but on the way to get his "Shit", swiS always starts to get nausea (1/2 the time, leading to dry heave/vomiting)......His anxiety level goes thru the roof, etc (some due to where/how he has to go to "Score"). When he finally gets the dope, this continues till he actually does it.

In a crazy/wierd kinda way, swiS almost likes it.....it gives the dope a little Kick....and in a strange way, adds to the overall adrenaline rush of the whole experience.

Crazy how the Brain works to control all these physical aspects, just based on the thought of getting dope......if only swiWe could control it totally, releasing that dopamine on command w/ no chemical help.......just a thought.......S

I'd have to agree with the mental stigma theory in combo with how some individuals brain stimulus which is created due to the somewhat subconscious anticipation, anxiety & excitement generated once it (the brain) determines the high probability from the soon to be euphoric experience of it's uptake receptors being flooded with already decidedly desirable dopamine\serotonin. All this neurological activity will ultimately become too overwhelming to contain and all this excess energy built up, is now seeking an immediate need of release, and thus will be exhibited in some form of physical body reaction; such as the "shot nerves" being anywhere from 'mild to wild' uncontrollable "shakes", along with having intense nausea w\ vomiting, or possibly even horribly explosive diarrhea , etc.
The Human Body is such a fascinating thing.

I'll also add that those who acquire the more extreme symptoms; are obviously at a much higher chance of developing strong physical dependence to the substance. Tho, it should also be mentioned that some who experience these reactions\symptoms can often times turn out to only just being a "phase", and not occurring as something systemic.

Hopefully all this makes some kind of sense. ??

Swim has experienced similar anxiety in the lead up to taking the drug, but not to a point of vomiting. Needing to chuck a turd, yes.

Swim doesn't take Meth anymore. Swim had a bad panic attack and heart palpatations one Sunday evening after a big weekend.

yeah this is what smurf experiences with any excitement just before having a line of coke or most class a stimulants. so suppose it varies on the person...

SWIM used to have the same kind of reactions when his crack dealer was on his way over. In fact he had to text the dealer to let them know that he was glued to the toilet that way he would not leave. SWIM used to think of Pavlov's dog when this happened.

It's just a mental anticipation/anxiety thing. SWIM frequently dry heaves and pukes when he hops in the ride to go get crack, but after one blast it goes away.
