Paranoia, Isolation, and Public Intolerance
My friend SWIM was telling me about her experiences in the past three weeks. SWIM is new to meth and used it one weekend, then the next, then decided to use it lightly for hunger suppression thereafter. SWIM has had many mixed feelings because SWIM is from a very rigid community which would greatly frown upon usage of meth.
Swim got to thinking that the majority of the problem swim has had revolves around trying to hide this. This constant need of hiding is the only thing that has made this whole experience unpleasant. Swim was beginning to wonder if potential anxieties meth supposedly gives are merely a combination of social fear and adrenaline combined? Also - wouldn't people be less likely to abuse or overdose on meth if there was more public information on HOW to smoke it? Swim's first night she had way too much, swim's second weekend she blew her whole gram by burning it. Swim finally caught on but was lucky - very easy to hurt yourself. Swim said she found some very good tips on here and has actually used MUCH less than she would have had this site not existed. Swim also believes that the government is going the wrong way about all of this. Swim would have never even considered trying meth had they not banned Ephedrine. When the government did that in the U.S., Swim got to thinking... they are full of shit. Instead of trying to hide everything about it, inform people and let them decide. Provide safety tips and stop lying about it's effects. Swim also happens to be a very conservative, educated, employed, and family oriented person. On a side note: Does anyone have tips for swim on reducing the effects of breakouts and mouth sores? Swim washes her face constantly and has been able to keep it normal thus far, and tips on mouth sore reduction?

Re: Paranoia, Isolation, and Public Intolerance
you know thats a good point. I think no matter what for swim meth will cause some increase in anxiety and in higher doses some paranoia, but i think if it were legal and had no stigma this would be greatly reduced. swim also gets sick and tired of all the constant hiding he has to do in order to use this drug and sometimes feels it completely ruins the whole experience, but not always
. truth be told this drug has fucked up so much shit in swIms life but you know what? I fully stand by 100% what I've always thought, which is its absolutely fucking ludicris that the government thinks it has a right to dictate what we can and can't put in our own fucking bodies for christ sake. and then to see the "war" on drugs completely fail with everyone able to get whatever the fuck they want and still they have the nerve to go mindlessly full steam ahead and arrest people like swim for only fucking possessing a pipe and literally a tiny used up baggy with only a trace amount of shit. sorry lol but you got me started on the rediculousness of drug policy which right now is a very heated topic for swim.

Re: Paranoia, Isolation, and Public Intolerance
SWIM can relate to this. He lives in a well-to do area and has, up until recently, always associated himself with non-drug users. His family and girlfriend are both staunchly opposed to all drug use. So, whenever SWIM is high on anything, especially hard drugs, he has to hide it from basically everyone and feels horribly guilty the whole time. This ruins the experience. SWIM sometimes wishes he could enjoy getting high the way his carefree friends do.
