Problems with Concentration/Memory

Hi.

SWIM has been having extremely irritating problems recently. Mid sentence he will forget what he was saying, get annoyed about forgetting, then lose his temper. He also tends to fret about it, thus making the problem worse.

SWIM is not a heavy drinker or drug user (light, occasional dissociative use) and will confidently say that he thinks the drug use is unrelated, before everyone rushes in to tell him to stop using them.

Does anybody know of any similar problems, or better still, does anyone know of any possible causes?

The problem (problems, actually) can be written in much more detail if need be. Not the easiest thing to explain to complete strangers though.

Re: Problems with Concentration/Memory

SWIMs boyfriend has exactly the same problem, but he suffers from grand-mal epilepsy and SWIM has always put it down to that and his drug use obviously doesn't help either. He finds it really frustrating though and sometimes gets quite upset/angry when he can't finish his sentence so SWIM understands how frustrating it must be....If it is really bothering you why not go and see your GP?

Re: Problems with Concentration/Memory

swim loves his omega-3 (high EPA in particular)

swim might this sounds to be an issue of impatience, seeing that drugs are not an issue, one could assume your diet is adequate.

Life direction is something most depart from time to time, perhaps you are ignoring something else? something that your ego is having difficulty in avoiding as the subconscious has developed too many associations to it behind the scene. People who have unresolved conflict are often panicked, panic will lead to rushing.

My cat feels similarly from his depression. Do you have any form of depression?

To improve ones concentration dedication is required. There are different methods of concentration meditation which will do the trick. But like i said, it will take dedication and persistence.

Re: Problems with Concentration/Memory

Well apart from that a dip in concentration (and increase in frustration) can be caused by anxiety. I found that once my cat got his own mind under control he became much healthier and more quick witted. But yes I'm just getting into meditation and it is wonderful.
