Drugs are not the only catalyst. Patience and power of Self through years of meditation can create the same, if not better, states of thinking and consciousness that drugs can induce. The difference is the the effects on the body; meditation can cure illness, the drugs-shortcut can make you more ill.

Mystical experiences through drug use is a peculiar topic. Many theologians were shocked when BBC did the documentary LSD: The Beyond Within and discovered that LSD can replicate everything within their criteria for a religious experience, and even further beyond that criteria. They dismissed LSD use and call it a form of "cheating" in order to reach a state that is supposedly found through prayer and worship. I personally couldn't give a crap what they think because hallucinogen drug experiences in particular, are more proven than any religion. It's pious and insulting to dismiss the importance of the incredible power of psychedelics. Perhaps they are worried because it shows a person a side of their psyche that is unattainable through their made-up delusions.

I did set out a rule about this forum, which is what this thread is about. Feel free to discuss the validity of mystical experiences, but not in this thread.

Are we allowed to post trip reports? I saw in the rules a bit about self incrimination but I'm not going to worry about that on here.

could it be possible that one can rip from context only the mystical side of an experience? If someone would be so kind to give us a small example, because i know of people who are atracted of mistyc, of unusual experiences, or both at the same time. So, if they would not debate the validity or the situation in which they found themselves, what shoud they talk about?
