phenylpiracetam (carphedon)
Borrowed from wikipedia:
Carphedon (C12H14N2O2, 2-(4-phenyl-2-oxopyrrolidin-1-yl)acetamide) is a derivative of the nootropic drug piracetam. It was developed in Russia, and a small number of low-scale clinical studies have shown possible links between prescription of carphedon and improvement in a number of encephalopathic conditions, including lesions of cerebral blood pathways, and certain types of glioma. It is also claimed to increase physical stamina and provide improved tolerance to cold. As a result, it appears on the lists of banned substances issued by the World Anti-Doping Agency. This list is applicable in all Olympic sports. As of 27 February 2006, the most recent case of carphedon abuse by a professional athlete is that of Russian biathlon Olympic silver medalist Olga Pyleva in the 2006 Winter Olympics, who was disqualified from attending further events following a positive drug test. She was subsequently banned from competition for two years. It may be noteworthy that Pyleva claims that carphedon was an unlisted ingredient of a Russian medication she was prescribed by her personal doctor (not a team doctor). While not widely available in the West, in Russia it is available as a prescription medicine under the brand name "Phenotropil". Packets of ten 100 mg pills are available for roughly 250 rubles (2008 price), or about 10 USD. It is typically prescribed as a general stimulant or to increase tolerance to cold and stress. A former rider for Gerolsteiner, professional cyclist Danilo Hondo, tested positive to this banned substance in 2005. Systematic (IUPAC) name 2-(4-phenyl-2-oxopyrrolidin-1-yl)acetamide Identifiers CAS number 77472–70–9 ATC code ? Re: phenylpiracetam (carphedon)
Good find there, Euphoric. I was especially taken by the statement it showed some activity with gliomas (brain-cancer). This is what one of the few long-term "liberal" Senators is diagnosed with - Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Massachusetts). I sent a copy to his main office in Washington.

Makes pleasurable mixes with everything SWIM tried, especially with DXM+Salvia.

4-phenyl-2-Pyrrolidone-1-acetamide
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is also Carphedon. Correct? |

Re: phenylpiracetam (carphedon)
ive recently started taking piracetam in powder form. I've been drinking 3 or 4 drinks a day with about 2400 mgs in each. a half teaspoon is 2400mg so i try to judge it the best i can. I'm hoping it will help repare some of the damage and help with the problems i've run into from abusing dxm. (i was doing it 2 - 3 times a week and every day on the weekend for a over a year) It's come to the point where dxm definately made me a bit slower than normal but I still find myself wanting to do it. anyone have any advice or has anyone used piracetam for similar reasons? with success? I just wanna be myself again i feel like i lost something. Thanks

Re: phenylpiracetam (carphedon)
Some hyped up media articles comparing phenylpiracetam or Carphedon with adderall got me excited so swim purchased some via relentless improvement
however.... it was hype Not impressed when compared to dexamphetamine Never tried modifinil but read some say even this drug is better than carphedon for the usual purposes of taking these uppers though swim will say+++ Impressed by carphedon when compared with piracetam or other racetams (oxi, ani) or just about any other so called noortopic trialed except survector (or amineptine) tianeptine (and hydrigene long term) but these later three have other main purposes for application as well being quite person specific, but swim compares in terms of calming yet stimulant properties hence comparison. Srtychnos nux vomica extracts a general digestive tonic and noortopic stimulant is superior to Carphedon for swim (Strychnos being more potent but can be very dangerous if not understood in terms of safety window and slow patient trituration entry over weeks ie you have to work with an expert here). Carphedons effects are definitely noticeable to me at 200 mg and workable as an focussing stimulant agent with a slight rebound effect at the end. but swim will stick with dexxies Coca leaves trumps the lot as usual!
