Re: liquid to powder K

Pouring the liquid out onto a flat surface and suspending this over a pan of hot water (without letting the plate touch the water), and allowing it to cook up slowly, gives the best results. Ketamine cooked up in microwaves and ovens tends to have a grainy quality to it, whereas using the plate/water method yields big tasty crystals.

Re: liquid to powder K

Swim believes the simmering water and flat surface is more natural and produces better crystals.

Re: liquid to powder K

SWIMs prefered method is to place it in a large casserole dish or on several plates and put them in the oven at 100 degrees C. This way he can cook up a litre in around an hour or so. Just have to watch it very carefully, adjusting the heat if necessary and always making sure no patches dry out. Once it is almost dry SWIM takes it out of the oven and scrapes it about with a couple of cards. The heat from the plate or dish is enough to dry it to completetion.

SWIY can do it in the microwave if SWIY is feeling a bit lazy or really wants a gram or 2 quickly. Simply put 1 or 2g worth of liquid onto a big plate and stick it in the microwave on full heat. Usually takes a microwave around 1min to evaporate 10ml of water. SWIM never sticks it on for a whole minute though as it tends to heat up too much and bubble and spit K everywhere. If cooking a gram he will put it on for 30seconds, check it, then a further 20, check it then if necessary another 10seconds. But yer it does come out kind of crunchy and isn't as nice to insuflate.

The oven produces a fine powder. Not sure why people would want large crystals of K though. Since crystals would be a lot harder to crush up and snort. SWIM once left some K evaporating in the airing cupboard over night and was left with nice big clear crystals, which looked good, but were a bit annoying to crush up. SWIM noticed no difference in potency to cooking up in the oven as opposed to leaving it to evaporate slowly.

In my typist's experience, the crystals that constitute the grainy, "oven-fresh" k are harder to crush into a fine, snortable powder than the longer shards yielded by the slower method. He isn't sure why - maybe it is the higher heat or shorter cooking time involved, but the oven-cooked k crystals definitely have more structural integrity than the naturally dried product, ergo they are harder to crush, which means that they block his nose up quicker and give him a more noticeable drip.

Just his opinions,though.

Re: liquid to powder K

if swim had loads of time then the "plate over" is good. unfortuately swim rarely has much free time these days and often uses the non-stick frying pan. this works fine and is very quick and can cook up litres depending how concentrated the K is. only thing to watch out for is over frying the K, which obviously destroys the K. swim finds that towards the end of the cooking process it is best to hold the pan a couple of inch's off the stove to prevent it burning.

Re: liquid to powder K

the puffin under my PC table sends his regards for the advice, he has loads of time on his hands so will be trying the plate method

i will also ask him to write a report on the subject as this will be his first ever voyage into 'cooking' drugs up, maybe it could help fellow DF users thinking about rying it ?
