House Raves

Hello. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with setting up
a rave at home. I would like to know what i should get (besides MDMA,
thats a given, lol). So far, all i have is a bright strobe light, a PA
system with 2 speakers/huge subwoofer, a limited selection of music
(prodigy, some techno mix, particle... might need some advice on music
also, lol), black lights, black light markers (for writing all over
these white sheets we have on the walls), and a really cool basement to
have it in.



We also have a real D.J. who will be providing some sweet music. He has
2 nice turntables and his own P.A. system, so quality is insured.



I think the plan is to move all the furniture to the walls so people
can sit and chill out and we have a door leading outside, where we are
going to put a couch for those people who are overheating/getting
sick(if there is alcholol). Any advice/suggestions would be much
appreaciated. Thanks and peace.

glowsticks, Vicks, pacifyers, other light toys like any thing that blinks, Newports. Also, you'll wanna be really careful about cops coming. Try to have everyone stay inside as much as possible as to not get cops called on you. As for music, you'll have a dj, but also see if you can find some DJ mix cd's which are nice cause they're mixed so no pause in between songs to ruin the mood. As for lighting, having those small Christmas lights around the cieling sets a good mood, and the rotating ball light things that hand from the cieling and rotate are AWESOME, but are expensive. How about you ask the people coming what kind of stuff makes them rush and see what you can do to accomodate them.

Well see, the thing is, no one who is going has ever tried MDMA, so im
sure they wont know what they like. And as for the whole cops coming
thing, thats definately not going to be a problem. The person's house
that this rave is going to take place at is surrounded by a LOT of
forest. The closest neighbor is a mile up the road and the house is in
the middle of a huge valley. Chace for cops = slim. Chance for a sweet
time = really really high (no pun inteneded)

well if no one's done it before, it's still best to get all the things I mentioned so they can play around with different things. My first time was neat, we all brought pillows and stuffed animals and soft blankets to lay on when we were coming down.

Get some soup or easy to eat stuf, for in the morning. If you plan on a long party. You'll sure won't be ably to consume dry foods and you'll need your energy for your energetic euphoric state of mind.

Bottled water and cheap beer. A chill out room would be good to have, with some sofas, ect. Wouldn't be bad to throw a few lava lamps here or there.

Swic heard if you host a party and someone get high/drunk and get in an accident they can sue you.


with that said hope you got some nice pills andA LOT of liquids to drink.

make sure you have water there. bottled water. you want at least 2 bottles per person you plan on having there. if you can't afford to give them out for free, charge an extra $1 per person to cover the costs.

also, keep alcohol out of it. alcohol being served or drank publicaly like that (even if a private party) draws quick attention to the popo's. if you keep the alcohol away, you should be ok.

If the means to get it are there and you can find a projector screen and a Minds Eye video, (just a trippy crazy film with nothing but different colors designs and images that flash by pretty quick, something friends and I used to watch on acid), save one of the sheets for something like that.

plenty of marijuana... some coca cola / lucozade / something a bit different to water for people to drink. some chewy sweets or lollies (candy...) and also some chewing gum. plenty of chewy stuff in fact. oranges and bananas are good for after too when you need something to eat.

I'd suggest some nice uplifting Euphoric trance for chilling out to and then some hardcore for when you want to rave.

Yeah, we will definately need to get a large cooler or something full
of water bottles and about the whole alcholol thing: We are going to
have a few people there who do no drugs (like 3 or 4), and they are
going to make sure no one takes too much of one substance or mixes them
dangerously (as in like taking 8 shots and popping 4 xtc pills or
something).



Also, we are going to have (i know this sounds a little dumb, but...)
wristbands of a certain color. So when people enter, they will put one
on, and each one will represent a different drug. So if they have a
marijuana wristband, then they can only use marijuana. If they have an
alcholol wristband, they can only have alcholol. This may be a little
bit extensive, but people will probably get really sick/drunk/fucked up
if we dont control substances. Its just a precautionary measure.



Another reason for the wristbands is just to make sure everyone gets
equally fucked up, we wouldent want to have half of the people be
sober!!!



Any other suggestions are well welcome... i would really like some
suggestion on music, like the Euphoric Trance music and some hardcore
techno like Rogue mentioned.

No offense...but the wristband idea is...well...in my opinion stupid. You can't tell people what drugs they can and cannot do. You're already letting them drink and drop which is a bad idea anyways, so why wouldn't someone be allowed to smoke and drop? You can't control peoples actions at parties, and you're not supposed to, that's the fun of it. You're starting some kind of weird government and it's a) not going to work and b) is really really over kill and, well, ludicrous.

I dunno, could be overkill, but if everyones looking out for one another, which is what everyone should kind of be doing so as to keep having a good time, I think you should go for the wristbands. At least in the off chance someone is seen doing something they shouldn't be, someone thats smart enough can step in and tell em to be careful.

SWIM is actually the host of this rave and i was trying to think of a
way where we wouldnt have to worry about anyone getting hurt or sick
because if someone passes out and has some kind of bad reaction to
mixing drugs then i would be responsoble for answering "Well what
happen?" and it would be hard to explain to an emergency call. any way
i think we are going to have a better plan to make the drugs easier to
handle. and i thank everyone for the advice. Also take in to
consideration that once we are on drugs there will be no way that we
could try to enforce things if were messd up ata rave so nothing
isreally limiting cuz we will all forget the rules once that music
comes on

Yeah, and some of the people i am inviting are a little well.... lightweight. I have seen a lot of these people get way</span>
out of control with alcholol or marijuana, so im sure they would be a
lot worse with mdma. Plus, its not like we would be like "HEY! NO
DRINKING!!", it would just be like "Hey man, thats not a good idea to
take 8 shots and then down it with 16 mdma pills and a bong rip"....
the idea is to not to have to visit the E.R. Lol

Heh, well its just good to see you exercise some amount of common sense, I've been to parties where everyones too messed up to drive and obviously no one wants to attempt to explain to cops or paramedics what happened.* We ended up getting lucky, one girl had only been drinking and got a little too much into her system so a few of us had to keep her moving, eating some bread and drinking water.* But completely killed the night for everyone.* So good call in using some sense with it!*

if you like trance you cant go far wrong with pvd... the sets club222 mentioned used to be some of my favourite, along with his set at home nightclub london. i dont listen to trance any more, but when i did, he used to be by far the best.


you could also try out some stuff by the prodigy, experience is an amazing album to listen to on e, as is jilted... ive never listened to fat of the land or the new one on e though.

Hey, sorry to bump this back up but the time of preparing for this
event is coming near.... so SWIM was going to go to Ocean City and some
other places to pick up some supplies... supplies mainly being drugs. I
was wondering what you guys would and wouldent suggest for such an
event. What swim was thinking about was:



Marijuana

MDMA

Alcholol



and maybe</span>:



DXM

LSD

Psilocybin.



Any thoughts on this matter would be much appreaciated.
