Drug info - Dronabinol, Marinol 2.5

Here is the dealio SWIYS, A good friend has graced SWIM with about twenty to thirty 2.5mg dronabinol, which is THC in pill form basically. SWIM can't seem to find too many experiences elsewhere and was wondering if there was any SWIY in this forum who have experience with em.
Just a side note in case it matters, SWIM partakes of the herb just about every day so SWIM is not sure if tolerance plays a role in its function. SWIM has already tried two, 5mg and little to nothing was felt. Try more? Proven rec level with this... mg?

swims experience with this is that herb is better.. swim remembers it to be very sedating.

kind of depends on what swim is looking for here. they are fun swim advises saving them for a show and tell kind of thing.. they are better conversation starters than the high.

SWIM has read (limited) reports of extreme euphoria and an intense "high" feeling. SWIM must admit that a jay goes much farther than 5mg of marinol. SWIM will try a higher dose tomorrow and report on its effects but would still like to hear more comments on the subject matter.

This Swimmer also has a large affinity for the opiates and benzos but is trying to keep these seperate from the experience of the marinol to isolate its effects.
SwimEU has eaten "marijuana butter" before and has had many intense experiences with this type of use. But SwimEU knows that there are many other active ingredients in marijuana that are not found in the pills but still hopes for the best.

Anytime swim has come across these thc pills he pokes a hole in them and squeezes the juice either onto a bowl or in a blunt. He finds it adds a bit to the high, but they are nothing special, especially compared to actual ganja.

Alright here is the deal. This SwimEU tried 7.5mg yesterday and it was a little more noticeable than the previous 5 mg that was tried the day before yesterday. Minor tracers and a general increase in mood were felt with the increase dose, as opposed to the sole feeling of hunger on 5 mg. Today 10 mg is going to be tried. The lowest dose that SwimEU has come accross with significant effects was 15 mg and for that Swimmer it seemed to be pretty intense. The highest dose SwimEU has come accross was one report of 25 mg at a single time and that seemed to produce somewhat of a "intense trip." If 10 mg does not produce any significant effects SwimEU will continue to increase the dose and report.
Once again SwimEU should mention that SwimEU has quite the tolerance to marijuana and is not sure if this plays a role in the action of the Marinol. SwimEU wishes there was more definitive information on the effects "out there" but will press on for Shim/Sher self.

Experienced user, to make a realistic analysis of the drug, it is imperative that your friend tries it without a tolerance. Giving dosages, either suggestions or experiences, is more-or-less useless when the user assaying has a significant tolerance. If your friend is a regular smoker, which it sounds like they are, then they are experiencing downregulation of CB1 & CB2 receptors, which are the primary receptors targeted by both cannabis and dronabinol. As such, there is in fact a definitive cross-tolerance between the two drugs. Please ask your friend to take a little smoking break, allow his receptors to re-emerge in full, and try again. Chances are, the 5mg will be sufficient for a full dose once your friends tolerance has been reduced. Even a 4 day break would provide sufficient recovery for further experimentation.

Makes a lot of sense. SwimEU tried 10 mg yesterday and it made SwimEU very tiered, but once again it was co-administered with 1 mg alprazolam so that probably makes the experience worth nill. SwimEU will take the advice, see you in four days....

SWIM and some of his friends just recently had their first experience with Marinol, and the outcomes were mixed. Two of SWIM's friends are not frequent smokers. Both of them took one 10mg pill of Marinol and both experienced good highs; euphoria, munchies, little paranoia, good and stoned. The others, including SWIM, are daily smokers and each took between 20 and 80mg of Marinol. The daily smokers experienced much milder effects. SWIM basically felt really burnt out and tired, don't know if it was from the Marinol or from smoking all day. It appears tolerance to marijuana does reduce the effects of Marinol. SWIM has some left over and plans on trying them someday without smoking first.
