Combinations - Opium and mushrooms.

Swim is doing mushrooms for her first time tomorrow but will be smoking a bit under half a gram of opium 2 hours before.

Bad mix or doesn't matter?

A smart rat would save the opium for after the mushrooms. One should be in the clearest headspace possible entering their first mushroom trip. It's very likely that it will be an intense experience, and probably better for swiy to wait untill tripping to decide how they would like to alter their mind, or whether they would like to at all.

Opium probably wouldn't have much effect if taken during the experience, and probably a tangible psychological effect if taken before.

Good O as the effects of the mushrooms subsides, could be pretty nice.

SWIM agrees with SWI-Ontherooftops in that some opium would be great to smoke at the end of the trip, but from SWIM's experience he would seriously recommend the O-shrooms combo.

The O keeps you positive and feeling nice and the shrooms can build amazing things on that foundation. SWIM and his mates agreed recently that their best drugs experience of last year was an O-shrooms-weed-alcohol combo.

SWIM would be interested to hear how it goes.

Well its obvious that the original poster has already had their experience, but for the sake of discussion:

O and alchohol is not recommended, as respiratory arrest can occur with this combination. It is especially dangerous when one factors in the stimulating aspects of mushrooms which could negate or make the effects of the depressants less noticable, leading to overindulgence.

Aside from the danger, while swim is quite sure that O, psilocybe, grass and alchohol would be a lovely hedonistic little combo, its his opinion that mushrooms and all psychedelic drugs should be treated with the respect they deserve. A new psychedelic can potentially be a truly spiritual experience, and potentially shocking as well, ones first experience should be a refrence to gauge other experiences with. Otherwise mushrooms, or whatever, on their own just might not be the same afterward.

swim wants to try mixing opium with all of the psychedelics, especially acid and salvia. mushrooms put swim into a really dreamy state, and mixing that with opium would create a very different reality, as if you were actually dreaming, or just put you right to sleep like a little baby.

SWIM knows this is a semi necro post, but SWIM has a serious question that they don't think deserves it's own thread. SWIM knows that shrooms produce SERIOUSLY dilated pupils from their personal experience. Opiates do the exact opposite (SWIM has done a couple of oxycodones and vicodins, though they didnt look at their pupils). Anyways, the question is:

"Will doing opium while on shrooms potentially cancel out the dilation from the shrooms?"

Yes. once swim and a friend tried pod tea with shroom chocolates. Swim used about 12 grams of pods and a little under a half 8th of mushies his friend is much smaler and less tolerant and doses more and swim noticed his friends pupils were very normal throughout the exp

Swim found it to be a pleasant exp but the pods canceled out some of the mushrooms effects and would not advise it for a shroom noob

This might just be SWIM, but he finds that opiates help keep pretty much all the possible bad things that can happen while shrooming from happening. They keep your head in a good and positive space, and prevent you from falling into an anti-social void. This is heroin SWIM is talking about for his case, but would assume it would be the same for all opiates.

For swim he finds that when one mixes shrooms with heroin, the heroin tends to cancel out the effects of the shrooms. Swiy will definitely feel mellow, but swiy won't feel like swiy is tripping. Swim has never done opium but would assume heroin and opium would be somewhat similiar, therefore the advice given above to wait till swiy is done tripping to take the opium would probably be good advice.

Actually swim likes to have opiates on hand when he is tripping just incase things get too intense he can have something to calm him down.
