Opinions - wanted :info on pethidine/demerol/merperidine

hey all, what a shitty day today was...9 degrees and half the city covered in fog! can imagine how crappy it would be in the uk having these sort of conditions 3/4's of the year!no thanks

anyways,
i would like some info from people who have used demerol tablets or 100mg iv formulations...
basically swim used to use alot of the 50mg tablets, cwe them and then have them via im, and would occasionally get 100mg vials.
swim used to use these in conjunction with 10mg methadone tablets. he found 10-20mg methadone tablets im'd didnt quite have the intense rush, but when it did hit it would last a hell of a lot longer and be more relaxing...
however, the demerol used to cause intense euphoria, then after the initial euphoria wore off, u couldnt help but pretty much go on the nod.
it also was very relaxing.

swim asks this as it has been a few years since he had it, it is now very very restricted in aus, i beleive its cos the potential to cause seizures or something like that and is mainly confined to post surgery use.
swim would like to find him self some, but has a supply of oc's in the next 2 days but they dont seem to really satisy swim like they used to, in the way the initial euphoria only lasts up to 5 minutes. its not bacuse of a tolerance as he uses them once a month for about a week.

has any1 had oc's and pethidine and can provide info on which is a better drug in all aspects?>>analgesia,euphoria,sedation etc etc
has swim got his hopes up about the pethidine for no reason? i ask that cos when he had the pethidine, he had no tolerance and was the first opiate he used recreationally.... basically can it make a difference when u have never used opiates b4 as compared to having an opiate history but no tolerance? ie will i be affected in the way that i have used opiates alot but have no current tolerance?
ps swim is currently on 3 x 20mcg/hr buprenorphine patches, but right now as i speak i only have half a patch on, i feel a little uncomfortable and a bit crampy but ok. so 3 patches will deliver roughly 1.5mg a day, would this be enough to block the effects of the oc's? swim doesnt think so but swim would like to know from experience so he doesnt waste his $$ on the oc's...

SWIM used Pethidine in the past and found it a poor opiate and not much better than Dihydrocodeine, either as a pain killer or to get high. The dose of buprenorphine in half a patch may affect other opiates, SWIM took several .4 tablets when in severe pain and the hospital had a hell of a job trying to find something else which would work. This was the reason she was switched from bupe to pethidine, but that didn't work out so she went on fentanyl, a much better drug for SWIM'S pain.
Some of SWIM'S friends find that once on a low dose of bupe (Subutex) they can get high again if they take enough heroin, but pethidine falls a long way short of heroin and SWIM wouldn't want SWIY waisting their pennies.

i do think swim has his hopes up about it for no good reason, probably remember the effects from it so vividly cos it was the first opiate he used recreationally and had nil tolerance....
