So glad someone remembered Crick and Watson. Apparently LSD was used as a form of "speed" at low doses to help them and other scientists of their time to concentrate. And if I recall correctly Crick didn't admit it until he was nearly on his deathbed. Who knows how many other important and distinguished scientists (besides the obvious ones) benefitted from this drug.

true, she is often forgotten, but she didn't take LSD...probably should have...SWIM doesn't know how some people go through life without experiencing lsd.

Let's toss out Abbie Hoffman. Abbie formed the strong underpinnings of the anti-war movement that crossed social and cultural lines in the 1960's and beyond. And he strongly advocated taking LSD to people. LSD could help people think of outrageous stunts to do to capture the attention of the mainstream-media. And it worked like a charm.

Throwing fistfuls of dollar bills over the rail above the stockmarket to stop trading as the all the people went diving for the dollars? LSD! Run a pig for president (his name was Pigasus)? Guess where he got that from?

Actually that was a misrepresentation of data. I have no proof that albert hofman IV'ed LSD. I was simply replying to this post.

Maybe im unclear on what is being said in this post, but my understanding is that he is suggesting Francis Crick was one of the two who discovered LSD, and from my readings that is completely false and I'm not sure how he came to this assumption. I was saying albert hofman discovered lsd, not that he has IV'ed LSD. Sorry.

oh yeah I didn't notice that; crick, watson, and franklin were the folks who discovered that DNA is arranged in a helix among other things.

Anthony Kiedis, the lead singer of The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, claimed in his book to have taken an IV dose of LSD. He describes it as an instant trip which leaves me to believe his story might be somewhat of a fabrication.

not to get off topic but that is a fairly accurate way to describe lsd im... it takes hold with in 5 minutes and by 10 you feel like you would , 1 and a half hours into an oral expirence

Well as mentioned Aldous Huxley was possibly the most famous. Because he died taking IM LSD 25. He requested it from his wife on hs death bed. She gave him I believe 2 IM doses and he slipped into infinity...
