tramadol alternatives

swims dad is taking tramadol (zydol 50mg) nion everyday that are prescribed to him for servier disability.

as a result he has serious rages to the extent of scitsophenia and also believed to suffer from some form of dementia. These rages and out bursts are uncontrolable and literally crazy. There is no possible socialising around him due to his condition/addiction. Only 1 of his 4 kids see and apeak to him.

He as sevral times been seen shaking like a leaf from either to many or dt,ing (doing his rattle). So swim was wanting to contacting his gp and tell him about his problem but was wondering if there is any other medicine avilable for pain relief rather than an opiate based one, that swim could suggest to his gp.

any genral advice would be very much appreciated on this subject

cheers.

Re: tramadol alternatives

I'm sure that if swiy were to talk with there GP and explain the situation to them that there will surely be some alternative to Tramadol. It could be a weak opiate such as something codeine based but in small amounts. Tramadol is as far as swim is aware not a true opiate as it is not derived from the poppy plant and is totally synthetic so there maybe better alternatives to those. If swiy dosen't want there father on any form of opiate. It maybe best just to let swiys father do there withdrawl and get clean as it may reduce the other problems associated with it, swim knows this may sound cruel but sometimes being cruel to be kind is the best option. Good luck in whatever decision swiy makes.

Re: tramadol alternatives

Swim knows tramadol like he knows no other substance, and swim can easily see how other people would not like some of the weird, unpleasant as fuck effects that can come from tramadol.

Swim highly recommends an opiate that does not play with serotonin/norepinephrine like tramadol.

Re: tramadol alternatives

Tramadol has a lengthy track-record for causing rage and outbursts from people. It is, after all, an SSRI like Prozac and Zoloft - just shorter-acting. Hide the guns before he wants to go back to high-school and play Columbine.

Definitely talk to his doctor and get him the fuck off that stuff.

Re: tramadol alternatives

Why is it all the so called "new and improved drugs"really do the worst things to people? This is why I advocated treating depression with opiates on another post.Atleast morphine doesn't make people pick up a gun and murder their family.Part of my theory on anti depressants and the like really making people worse off.Psychiatrists and pharmaceutical companies wouldn't make as much money if they actually made people better.

Re: tramadol alternatives

SWIM was prescribed tramadol many years ago and it gave her anxiety and nightmares, she tolerates many other opiates well. Get this poor man off tramadol and try a different opiate if required for pain.
