Opinions - Is it Okay to Use Mushrooms if SWIM Gets Paranoia from Cannabis?

ok heres the situation.

swim toked weed for about two years and lately, certain experiences while high have made a negative impact when swim gets high again. for example- feeling very paranoid someone will know swim is high, not having confidence to talk, etc...

now swim doesnt toke anymore unless with one person before bed or in situations where constant attention would be on swim....

so swim is curious to try shrooms because of the experiences but thinks the paranoid feeling felt while high on weed will be intensified to the point swim will do something crazy or devolop mental problems.

so swims question is if anyone could offer advice who have experienced more of these situations and there knowledge of the drug

SWIM sometimes feels paranoid from cannabis. He had a major panic attack at one point. However, on mushrooms, he has no feelings of paranoia or anxiety whatsoever. In fact, it's an entirely positive experience for him. It really comes down to the individual - one may be susceptible to anxiety on certain drugs but not others, such as SWIM.

There is always a risk of triggering latent mental problems with psychedelics, be it THC, LSD, mescaline, psilocybin etc. If one is serious about trying a substance, it is always wise to start with a low dose (a beginner dose of Psilocybe cubensis mushrooms is ~1.3g dried) and a good mood in a comfortable, familiar environment.

I would start out very small and see how you feel. Just go with the flow..

SWIM used to get severe paranoia from smoking weed, but it seemed to have passed and learned how to chill more. His girlfriend can get very high from weed and doesn't bother her much.

SWIM knows it will be a different trip but will it possibly give SWIM paranoia (it comes and goes lol). Or is it more like a new situation to adapt to and doesn't have much relevance to weed.

tripping with a girl swim had feelings for (not dating) was actually incredibly therapeutic and gave him a much needed reset as he had become to material and cynical. swim cannot even describe the afterglow and now he and the girl who "weren't dating" are about to take E together for swim's first time just keep talking, swiy will have an amazing time.

SwiM wishes that swiM's significant other were into that kind of thing. SwiSO likes to drink a lot but there's practically no chance for a shroom trip there

If swiY and his girlfriend go into the shroom trip happy and together, it should make for a wonderful experience

Shrooms and weed = two totally different experiences.

Labrat used to get pretty paranoid from weed (although not anymore -
seem to have grown out of that), but never got paranoia from mushrooms
other than a few difficult experiences. Many other lab animals are the
same way - cannabis makes 'em paranoid as hell, while shrooms won't.
However, there are some who get it on both, and a few who didn't know
what paranoia was until taking mushrooms.

The point is, you can hear as many experiences or read as many trip
reports as possible, and still not truly know how you yourself will react
until actually taking the drug.

If SWIY decides to go ahead and try, Labrat would advise
a. keeping the dose low (2g or less)
b. do not smoke weed!
c. do not be scared of becoming paranoid/having a bad trip/going insane
or whatever before and during the trip. Positive mindset is everything.
d. make sure GF also is in a positive mindset. Bad thoughts can feed off
of those of others.

Pluto is with swiY on the whole not smoking weed while on shrooms bit! Pluto has bad reactions to weed while on shrooms and while it may not be this way with swiY or his girlfriend it's better not to take that risk. Save the pot for later, and do things safely.

Make sure swiY knows what kind of shrooms they are consuming, and how much/what level trip they are planning to reach. For a first time it may be better to start off lower, things will be happy and colorful and not too overwhelming, which may be just what you two are looking for anyways. A level 2 trip should be fine.

As far as paranoia goes, just plan it out right. Follow the rules of set and setting - be together in a good mood in a good place, free from distraction and be set on having a good time Don't worry about things, enjoy them.

Alright thanks for the tips! SWIM finally got a hold of the goods! This monday SWIM and gf have the house to themselves and can do what ever they want. SWIM will inform me how it goes.

sound like a fun time. pop in a funny movie, something lighthearted, sit back, and enjoy! Or just chill out with your favorite music. just remember that it is just a drug and will wear off in a few hours if you begin to freak out. always helped SWIM. He has told himself this ever since first time ingesting LSD.

Baron always found that smoking grass whilst tripping always brought on the waves stronger and prolonged the high as well. The last couple times he has made shroom tea where there never seems to be a sketchy episode...
