anyone need prayer for recovery?

hey guys i just thought id offer prayer for anyone that needa help or beleives in th power of prayer or needs prayer for someone in there life that there worried about. Ive run a prayer minsetry for a couple years now and have come to see so many prayers get answered and so many things changed for the better that i thought id open the subject of prayer and make an offer the pray everyday for betting addiction and living free. and also ive got quit an amazing story about how i got out of jail and got clean. id love to share it if anyone is interested

Swim was lucky to go to a rehab ran by a bunch of old recovering addicts. They strongly believed in a higher power, be it God or a tree. Prayer does help.

a pray, what about a positive thought or just snapping your fingers.

sorry swim had to say that couldnt resist (has impulse problems, which i guess could help explain why he's an addict, at least alittle), he's really not trying to be a dick, you can throw a pray his way if you want (an unrepentant dope fiend currently on methadone), swims an atheist an doubt it would help but just knowing someone is thinking positevly about him for a moment would be nice, thanx, peace.

swim would like a prayer, swim is still trying to make it off the tramadol but is having the hardest time ever... the past 2 months have been getting a bit easier though..... thank you hippie lain and please share your story

Swim and his little brother both have opiate addiction problems and are trying to stay clean... Swim has been clean 4 months on suboxone maintenance and just slipped up tonight cause of his little brother going to detox and rehab and how upset he was about having to do in-patient. Swim is not going to use again as he knows when him and his bro are both clean they will have a better relationship than ever!!!

Swim would appreciate it VERY much if you would keep swim and his little brother in his prayers!!! They are both still very young, swim is 20 and his brother is 15 so they have alot to look forward to in life!!! Thanks in advance hippie!!! -bdb1-

Is positive thinking not just the new age way of prayer? For positive thinking to work you need to have faith and believe it will work. If you don't have faith in the positive thoughts then that's kinda negative.

Looks like modern science is turning to faith for help!

yeah smurfs smurfette prays everyday to the universal consciouness 'god' while smurf just has everyone's problems in his mind & wishes the best on them for what ever they need help for. i would consider this 'praying' for everyone. you all are in my 'prayers' & always hope for the same back.

If we all prayed together with positive thoughts of love then there would be a huge change in the world. And we know this works, science is now admitting this now. Positive thinking heals, just think what the world would be like if we all started transmitting thoughts of love.

You don't even have to believe in some other God for this to work. The faith lies within yourself, all is as one.

i agree oggy. i often hate the world because of how quick people are to violence, it really bugs me. but i guess some people choose love and others dont. but ive learned the only true peace i find is in serving and loving other people.

Something I've learnt is to not hate as hate only makes your own reality turn ugly. You can feel pity for those who don't understand love but you can't change them with ill feelings as this only adds negative energy into the world.

Most often its not the people that are violent, every child is born with love and learns evil. This is why you have no memories of the innocent love you were born with as love can not look at evil.

The bible had a good metaphor for this when Jesus said on the cross "God (good) why have you forsaken (left) me" after he took all the sin of the world. This also heppens every day to people when something bad happens, good forsakes them. The problem is people take this literally when its to be taken as a metaphor. When you look at it in the way it does make sense.

Bitterness and hate only harm the person feeling such, not the person who it is directed at (unless it is directed at self) which renders it pointless. When you hate, you lose, when you forgive, you win. Forgiveness is for your own personal happiness, not because the person in question deserves it. I like this line from Savage Garden "I believe forgiveness is the key to your unhappiness" Whether it is forgiving others or yourself. Why feel bad because of something someone else did or something you cannot change. Learn from it and move on. Prayer often helps people who struggle with this. Positive thinking would also help. Not one and the same but if it can free a person from bitterness its worth a shot.

Not entirely true as when one feels bitterness and hate it can effect the people around you as they will receive your negative vibes. A nice smile can make someone day when a evil look could upset. Try passing a nice smile on to your neighbor, this will make you feel good when they smile back.

yes in attempting to show people what love can do on a daily basis it can have rewarding benefits to create a place where people all have a positive energy. too many negative seeds in a place & you got a unhappy environment. good vibes & bad vibes build up when ever where ever. it's a matter of not turning the other cheek when someone is negative you should show them their wrong ways to help educate them hence caring & having a positive effect. mass hapiness equals heaven.
