USA - Should ephedrine & psuedoephedrine be illegal?

I have been doing alot of thinking on the whole meth problem the world is facing today. I mean specifically meth labs that are cooking crank. This happens all over the USA every day and I made a site about what I know which is on the recipes for cooking crank meth but thats to give you an idea of where I am coming from not what i want to talk about right now.

Here i am thinking that if they just outlawed ephedrine and pseudoephedrine that is found in Sudafed and Contac and other decongestants and cold medicine then that would get rid of the problem. i was on YouTube and I found a video I posted on my site where this Florida sherif says that they should just ban the ingredient all together. Is that a good idea do you guys think?

I did some thinking on it all and to me it just seems to be that it would make the problem worse. all ready there are big cartels in mexico and south american where they make methamphetamine plus you got the raw ingredient coming over from the Asian countries into mexico and other countries. now if you go and outlaw the stuff then what? well to my way of thinking what you are gonna see is a whole bunch of new drug trafickers who go around grabbing the ephedrine from one country and take it into other countries. that means more gangs that get higher prices for the stuff they sell. if they get more money they get more weapons and they get protective over their money too. so i think its almost better off to have things the way they are. how about you guys?
