Amount of material in a joint
How much material typically fits in a cigarette/joint? How much does a rolling machine pack the material? Basically, is it possible to fit 3.5g of material in one cig-sized joint?

Re: qty of material in a joint
It depends on the strength of the weed. I spoke to a guy, who advices not to put 3.5 grams in one joint, but considerably less. Anyway, he thinks it is about 2 grams, which can be put in a joint. And 1 gram in a sigarette. But it is just an estimate on the size of pluck weed he remembers. 3.5 grams would be too much.

Re: qty of material in a joint
3.5g is definitely blunt territory. A cigarette-sized pure weed joint could weigh anything up to 2g if it was completely stuffed. In theory, it's all to do with the width of the rolling papers though.

Re: qty of material in a joint
3.5 grams will yield a very large joint, probably more appropriate for king-sized papers or a very, very compact joint using at least 1.25" papers.
Swim usually rolls joints that contain between .7-1.2g, which usually end up being about the size of a normal cigarette, depending on the density, and quality of the cannabis, as well as its moisture content. Joints of more than 1.5g are usually reserved for multiple people, or multiple sessions. While on a hike, swim will roll a 1.7g joint, and extinguish it halfway through smoking, to smoke the other half somewhere later in the day/hike. A 3.5g joint of any good quality cannabis would most certainly be used for a special occasion, or would be a special occasion unto itself. |

swim would think that a smaller sized joint (width) would be a better use of your herb.

Re: qty of material in a joint
SWIM finds that one can use their own common sense or judgement to work out how much of asubstance to put in a joint, SWIM would think the amount of tobacco/weed mix or just weed used in a joint vary from person to person, SWIM personally finds rolling machines wrap the contents up way to tight to pull on, although using just weed the packing is less tight than with tobacco as weed doesn't mold into shape as easily.
