so nice they cooked it twice

Last time SWIM went to see his guy to pick up some K he was told to recook it
Basically was told to mix the powder back into a table spoon of warm water and hold it over a candle till all the water had evaporated and scrape the powder back up and cut lines out of it
SWIMs guy could not explain why he should do it only saying “its way better dude”
Would be interested to hear what the SWIMmers thought of this

Re: so nice they cooked it twice

Swim thinks he knew there were impurites in it and just wanted you to cook it again for your own safety.

With a warning like that - whatever the monkey may do - do not allow the monkey to inject this material.

Re: so nice they cooked it twice

Having heard this anecdote several times before, I wonder if there is some chemical process that occurs while heating low grade k, improving it's quality. This reminds me of the GBL -) GHB conversion which is completed by heat.

I have heard that the chemist must cook the hydroxylamine during the final stage of ketamine manufacture. Perhaps if this stage is not completed, the additional cooking being discussed is completing the synthesis?

Any insights?

Re: so nice they cooked it twice

That sounds like he was hinting that it was cut with some crap and wanted to try and get his customers to clean it before use. But then just dissolving it in water and then drying it again isn't going to exactly remove much if there is no filtering done.

What was in the powder would dissolve in the water, maybe leaving *some* undissolved stuff. This liquid is then heated to evap the water. Meaning that the solution is likely to result in a powder that had the same "Stuff" in it from before it was dissolved.

Ketamine is water soluble, but then again so are many "cuts". So unless he was talking about dissolving it and filtering off some undissolved crap before heating the solution again, then there would be little point.

Re: so nice they cooked it twice

Swim did what he was told with half and took the other half without
the half gram that was recooked was far finer powder than it was b4
Swim says it was pretty nice K so dont thinks it was cut up much
made him wounder about drinking the water that he mixed his K in but thinks it would be a waste

Re: so nice they cooked it twice

Monkey has had Ketamine which he was told was recooked as well. It basically means the dealer is looking out for him, which is nice!

Re: so nice they cooked it twice

Re-cooking ket is something swims pet monkey has recently become aware of.

In certain circles, swimmers are convinced that by dissolving the crystalling ket into water, then driving the water off with heat, the finished product will give a much smoother high than that from snorting crushed crystalline ketamine.

Swim can only note that after the 'cooking' process, the ketamine takes on a consistancy similar to flour, rather than salt or sugar as it was before.

One can only assume this makes the drug easier on the users nose, as the crystalline form can be quite painful to snort, or so swim is told!

Swim also feels that the 'smoother high' that the ketafiends describe, is likely due to an ever so slight reduction in potency when it is heated. Again this is speculation, but swims pet monkey does agree that the effects of the drug once cooked do not seem to be as intense as when he snorts the crystaline form..

Re: so nice they cooked it twice

swim thought heating Ketamine would degrade the final product, rather than improve....and thought it would be alot quicker/easier to pour liquid onto mirror and dry with hair dryer, rather than bronx style spoon and lighter!
