First batch of cooked Opium
SWIM took about 170g of poppy pod straw, used a coffee grinder, then heated the powder with water for a couple hours.
SWIM's final product is very very dark (still brown) but looks almost black.
Is this atypical?
SWIM tried doing the final evaporation in a baking dish, got impatient, dumped the liquid back into a heated pot and then dried the baking dish high over a gas burner to warm it up to speed up the drying.
SWIM got some very sticky stuff coming off of the baking dish, enough to roll into several balls... balls were put on tin foil, were pretty solid last night and this morning they collapsed down into individual sticky goo stuck on the foil.
SWIM also has about 1/4 cup of this black liquid that's about as thick as honey... SWIM got tired of the evaporation process.
Should SWIM rehydrate this thick liquid and try the evaporation method again, or what? Even on a second cook, wont it still come out black?
Did SWIM F up his stuff?
SWIM tried to smoke one of these gooey balls in a light bulb, torched it from beneath with a butane lighter... the smoke was pleasant enough, it actually kind of smelled light pot, but a weak version of it.
