Likelyhood of sentence for production and conspiring with intent to supply GHB (uk)

So the other day... my mother's, sister's, milkman's goat (here in referred to as SWIM). Lost his job in a laboratory for the production of GHB. Goats can be very naive, and this particular one left what must of been 300ml of GHB (density 0.52g/ml) with related recipe sheets inside his place of work. His employers informed the goat police and passed on all related items.

Subsequently an arrest was made an poor old Mr Goat was left in the stables for an absolutely riveting 7 hrs. This was followed up by means of interview and IMO, SWIM foolishly declined free legal advice

A fact of life, we all know too well - is that goats lurve to talk. Mr policeman seized SWIM's farmyard phone and possessed a very comprehensive document containing all message history with the majority of previously deleted messages being now highlighted in front of his scrawny eyes.

Now this document evidents a wide array of recreational drug use, and conversations pertaining to the possible switch over of one particular substance in generous proportions in exchange for a large pile of peanuts.

Now it is important to note that, Mr goat and his close friend Mr panda - Never saw a peanut or even a blade of grass from any transactions relating to or involving any inter- species recreational drug use, especially with a particular character known as THE Shrew (whom is not known on a personal basis). Primarily due to the shrews eventual dislike of the effects of the aforementioned substance. The what-must-be approx 479 pages of phone history clearly show this all fell through, though conveniently were not brought up in interview. (or even highlighted for that matter)

Amounts of up to 1kg per week may or may not have been mentioned.

SWIM is on Bail for some considerable length of time. Has told nothing but the truth (apart from a few tiny irrelevant details which swim was caught out for), Panda intends on the same when they eventually visit his zoo.

So Yeah, basically Mr goat was in need of some good advice and any and all likely outcomes.

On his behalf I have presented his story to you (hooves and keyboards) and SWIM would be very grateful and appreciative of any info whatsoever.

Swim also realizes that either 0 or maybe 1 case involving GHB for recreational use has ever came about in his country UK.

Oh and proof that only 500ml of gbl was ever bought should be easily attainable.

Thanks muchly!!!!!!!!

Unless that statements means he, instead, opted for paid legal advice then he is, indeed,.

Under the Misuse of Drugs Act the current maximum penalty for possession with intent to supply Class C drugs is five years in prison. The maximum penalty for possession of Class C drugs is two years in prison.

Given the hysteria surrounding GHB and the way that certain interest groups encourage its demonisation as a cause celebre, then he might end up on the wrong end of the maximum sentencing unless he gets some quality legal advice, fast.

It is unlikely that there are many lawyers who will be familiar with GHB beyond the screaming tabloid headlines, so he will need to provide said legal representative with as much information, supported by proven research, as possible.

The only good sign, so far, is that he is on bail. Had he caught the attention of the ignorant reactionaries, they could have stamped their feet and demanded that said spawn of satan be held on remand.

Luckily for him there is a wealth of information to support his case, not withstanding, last year's report in the lancet with shows GHB way down on the harm scale, well below that of even alcohol or tobacco. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6474053.stm

I have found a reference case pertaining the someone being convicted of the illegal sale and supply of Class C Drugs, so it should be relevant:

http://www.mhra.gov.uk/Howweregulate...ions/index.htm

He was sentenced to 51 weeks imprisonment, suspended for two years, and to 40 hours community service for dealing in counterfeit medicines.

In his case there was a lot more against him, in that it was a proven, large scale, operation designed to import and distribute prescription medicines from abroad.
